Jalen Carter: how far will he fall?
Still unfolding.
Tragic that several poor decisions led to people losing their lives and others being injured.
Saw one mock today that had him falling to 17.

At 17 I'd sprint to the podium faster than Colbert after a bullshit trade up for Devon Bush. My guess is two misdemeanor charges he still won't make it out of the top 10
So you’ve removed him from your war room?
I will be surprised if he fell out of the top 5. All it needs is one team( Arizona) to care more about talent than character and he is drafted. At the very minimum he falls to the Raiders or if crazy takes over he falls to the Browns.

Yup. This is the NFL we're talking about. No way he drops to 17, I'd be shocked out of the top 10, surprised if out of the top 5.

If he drops to 17, we will be running the card up.
He will fall to 17 and we will sprint to the podium….
To take Joey Porter Jr…
I kid.
Sort of…
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
No sort of…
The only way the Steelers don’t draft Butt Shot Jr is if he’s already taken. Hells bells, they might even, dare I say it, trade up to get him.
NHALS = NFL purgatory
They better not.

Can someone explain this situation to me?
From what I've read, Carter was drag racing against the coach & teammate that died in the car crash and provided conflicting statements to the police. Is that it, or am I missing anything?

Pretty much. Aside from the coach in the other car having blood alcohol level over the legal limit (no mention of carter), and they were weaving in and out of traffic, using the turning lane, and veering into oncoming traffic in order to "win."
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.
I hope they don't look at that gifted #32 pick as found money..... ( who would have thought trading Claypool for a 1st in return )
And therefore have the mentality of using it to package #17 and #32 to move up........
This team needs all the draft pick they can get their hands on.
Trade down from 17 to pick up another early round pick.
here is a nice chart on trade value..........

If I read it correctly
Trade #17 to Jacksonville for........ #25 and #72
1 - #25
2- #32
2- #50
3 - #72
3 - #81
Trade #17 to the Giants for...........#26 and #68

2- #32

3 - #68
3 - #81

I'd be good with either of those scenarios, and I'd be willing to take a chance on a falling Carter at 17 IF it were to happen. Khan's comments sure do leave the door open for a trade-up, but it's silly season at this point, so take everything with a grain.Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 9:13 pmI hope they don't look at that gifted #32 pick as found money..... If they are targeting JP jr what pick does Mikey start to get antsy? 10th, 11th or 12th?Jobu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 7:48 pmNo sort of…

Another nightmare scenario:
JP jr and Carter(he won't be) are both there at 17 and they still take JP jr.
Does JP Jr. have a cool nickname or some type of hype slogan like “Benny Snell Football”??
Let’s hope he doesn’t. That’ll be far too much for Jibbs to pass on.

Also came out he got off with a warning before the death incident after doing 89 in a 45. Not an isolated incident.

(1) the numbers i’m looking at have in recent history picks in the 11-20 range as about 3X more likely to make a probowl as picks in the 21-30 range. Massive, massive drop in talent between teens and twenties.
(2) generally figure 5 or 6 rookies make roster in a given year. Other picks we try to sneak onto practice squad after cutting. In recent years, they end up on someone else’s team. We have 5 picks in the first 4 rounds, and usually a UDFA makes it, so if we trade down for an extra pick, it likely means we end up cutting one of our other top picks.
The trade that might interest me would be #32 and #120 for ~#34-37ish and maybe like #90. Basically, turn that 4th rounder into a 3rd rounder e.g. starter caliber prospect.
Well, AB got clocked going over 100 so PIT should be able to handle slow Jalen....

If Carter is there at 1.17 and we don’t select him, we’ll it’s the Steelers “braintrust” who should then be arrested…
What he did was dumb but hardly a serious crime. Dude was probably scared out of his mind after what happened.
