Steeler Score Game Week 3- at Raiders

Post by jeemie » Wed Sep 20, 2023 4:57 pm

Get your picks in now! Game closes at kickoff.

Rules addendum: you are allowed to change your mind and submit a new pick, as many times as you like up until game close, but I ask that if you do so, instead of going back and correcting your original pick, you submit your new pick in a new post in thread. Do this for every time you change your mind.

I keep track in a spreadsheet and when I check the thread periodically I only go back to the post of the last person I have in my spreadsheet. If you edit your score as opposed to submitting a new guess, I will likely miss it.

Thank you!

Steelers are a poorly coached football team, at a disadvantage, nearly every time out.

Thank you, Jeemie!

What were the results from last week? Cumulative results for the year? Maybe I missed the post

These will be amended after next week. One player has a higher score because they changed their minds and edited their original post, and I missed it (hence the rules amendment 😎). But I allowed it as they got in touch with me by PM. But now everyone knows the rules... 🤣

I'll make sure I link last week's results and the cumulative results in every new Score Game thread as well.

Thanks for posting the "NEW" rules addendum, Jeemie. As many years as this game has been going on here, it's long been the practice of some/many folks (me included) to change/edit their original score prediction post as the week progressed closer to (but definitely before) kickoff and new injury info came about.

Thanks for running the game. And now that you've decided to create the new rule, hopefully everyone will see it and can comply with how you choose to run the game now.

Thanks again! :D

PS...maybe these game score prediction threads can be pinned at the top each week, so folks don't miss them/confuse them with last weeks score thread -- just a thought.

Rooneytunes score (now I'm REALLY confusing people...he posted this in the results thread!)

Steelers 21 (Boz 7 fgs)
Raiders 13

Rooneytunes...sorry no extra points awarded if Boz really DOES kick 7 FGs :D

I am probably stupid for predicting the Tomlin-era Steelers will beat the Raiders, but this year's Steelers team isn't good enough for the Raiders to be a trap game.

Definitely the winding road to victory

😂

The will win because they suck too much to take the opponent lightly.

It takes these kind of mental gymnastics to be a Steelers fan these days. The Steelers under Tomlin always get way too cocky when successful, then blow games to bad Raiders teams or Mike Glennon. Even this year, they came in cocky after a nice preseason and had two embarrassing performances on O (and 1 on D). They're nice and humiliated now, so they'll be forced to take the Raiders seriously. I think the Steelers and somewhat better than the Raiders overall, so I pick a win. Simple really

OK..glad they won against Cleveland even though I picked against the STeelers..

The offense is so bad and it starts with the line and coaching and scheme. NOt an overnight fix. Raiders suck as well though. Can our D win another game for us? I say no. Plus it's a west coast game...

Raiders 13-Steelers 10

Steelers always break my heart early in recent seasons. I will be SOOO glad when they fire Matt Canada and hire Victor Uruguay. As a Canadian, I can't take no more..lol
