Watson is done for the season, shoulder surgery upcoming. What a great investment by the Clowns.
Also per Scheffter, looks like Pat is trending to play this week.

I know nothing about the Browns backup QB but I think of the Browns as a team that could run the ball on the Steelers D and being that Watson is done it wouldn’t surprise me if they come out highly motivated
Kenny isn’t going to make them need to pass

Brown's backup PJ Walker is abysmal:
49% completion percentage
1 TD
5 INT
6.3 YPA
QB rating 51.3
Career:
54.9%
6
16
6.4
60.1
Not a great runner either: 30 carries, 81 yards
The Browns will try to run it and play defense.
17-13 Tomlin thriller incoming!

What a great investment by the Clowns.
Only a meager $200 million fully guaranteed remaining on that deal.

PJ Walker will make questionable decisions and force some throws. KP8 might not pass the ball 20 times in this game.

I am told that the shoulder injury is similar to the one Cam Newton had-- not a good prognosis if that is true.

5-4 as a starter... I heard that's the way to judge QBs.
Also, he beat San Francisco this year.

Once we are done beating them it could only help us if they got better
How bout we trade Rudolph for a 4th while they still have playoff hopes ?

It's apparently a glenoid fracture:

Watson sought multiple opinions and all doctors told him the same thing - If he were to take another big shot in that area, he'd likely have permanent damage.

Also a moot point since the trade deadline was 2 weeks ago

True but Trubisky might have actually brought something by way of trade with so many QB's going down or teams like the idiotic Jets who keep rolling with Zach Wilson
Rudolph is better than Wilson but it's possible they might have made a move for Truibsky. For some reason, Trubisky is seen as having value
I'll never understand it

This type of shoulder injury is often associated with muscle tension in the contralateral ball sack.

DTR looked awful against the Ravens. But facing him is much scarier than PJ Walker.

Yep that's what Cam had as well. The severity my be different but it could be career-altering.

Rookie Dorian Thompson Robinson or whatever his name is getting 2nd start as a rookie.
Good lord NHALS. Can you please not fuck around and have this be some 4th quarter death match? Fucking demolish them.

I saw DTR do some wild shit at UCLA. He’s very athletic.
Oh Tomlin…please don’t add this guy to the list of 3rd stringers you’ve lost to…

As a UCLA alumni I have seen it many times as well. He became a much better decision maker and passer as he progressed in Chip Kelly’s system but he is also good for some WTF picks. Just don’t let him beat you with his legs.

Yeah...it's typically not a matter of "making a rookie QB look like an all pro" so much as it is the Offense either fucking up or being so conservative it would make Bob Dole blush.
The perfect example is the Bengals game vs Ryan Finley in 2020. Here's every Steelers drive in the first half of that game:
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 1 play, Fumble
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 plays, Fumble
- 10 plays to go 17 yards (seriously), Interception
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 & Out, Punt
The Steelers had 30 total yards and 3 turnovers on 8 drives in the first half of that game. Cincy could have trotted out a HS QB in that game and it wouldn't have mattered.

And they are $7k over cap for next year with no 1st or 4th round picks. They haven't taken a 1st or 2nd round pick in 2 years.
