Fury fans - where you at with dis team?
Informal poll
A. I see them as a potential SB team.
B. I’m encouraged and see a playoff team, they’ll win at least one playoff game but fall short.
C. Despite their 7-4 record and current 5th seed standing, I’m pessimistic about the playoffs and a playoff win. I think they’ll make the dance but be one and done.
D. I could see them falling short of the wins necessary to secure a playoff spot.
E. At the end of the day they’re coached by Tomlin. I expect losses where we shouldn’t. We don’t make the playoffs.
F. I live in a basement/barn, hate Pickett and Watt, I don’t care about the playoffs….i just like to troll the board w emojis and kiss administrator asses.

C. Barring major injuries to Watt and other key players, It's hard to see this team finishing with fewer than 10 wins, and they probably get 11 given the easy schedule ahead.
If the offense continues to look more like it did yesterdayand the Steelers finish with the 5 seed, then I would upgrade to B, as I think the Steelers have a shot a playoff win if the #4 team is the AFC South. I think the Steelers would be tough in a rematch against the Jags or Titans.

They are in the A crowd! A! NOT B! A!!!

Most likely C. Especially if our wild card opponent is Miami.
Between B & C for now.

An optimistic C. If they keep noticeably improving every week I'll be impressed.
I don’t think any team in the AFC should be confident in getting at least one postseason win this year. Pending matchups.

B- here. But without Tomlin Steelers are a D-level Titans team.

Should be a C. But with no "A" level AFC team i'm going with a B.
So I had this convo todaylifelongsteel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 8:54 pmShould be a C. But with no "A" level AFC team i'm going with a B.
The “elite” AFC teams aren’t as elite as they once were
Chiefs and Ravens? I’d have to take Chiefs just because Mahomes >> Lamar
After that? It drops off. Cincy is toast. I don’t see how Cleveland can continue w their QB situation.
Dolphins have a decent team but certainly not elite
It seems to be pretty wide open

C. After the Stains game, I feel like a sucker for having bounced back to cautiously optimistic, but here I am.
There was progress on Sunday.

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Maybe I am an optimist but they are an A level team.
The only team that scares me is the Chiefs. I think they have a good chance of beating anyone else. They have Lamar's number and the defense is going to get better with Fitzpatrick coming back and Porter getting more and more experience. The loss of Holcomb was tough and that is where the weak point is in the defense.
The offense needs to put up more points obviously and I think that is going to happen in the coming weeks. Sullivan knows his shit I think. He has been working on the offensive side of ball in the NFL for 20 years and is credited for helping Eli Manning become Eli Manning. So I think he is our ace-in-the-hole when it comes to the offense.

Kind of where I am. I can see us winning a playoff game or getting smoked depending on the match-up.lifelongsteel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 8:54 pmShould be a C. But with no "A" level AFC team i'm going with a B.
My Tomlin’s gut says C. But the way the it’s going this year, they luck out and a star QB they’re up against gets hurt and bam we have a wild B upset in the WC round before getting stomped by a top seed.

Buffalo looked pretty good yesterday....they suffer from coaching too. but they seemed to have their A game against the Eagles. Might need to make them number 2 in AFC based on that, but they will not be number 2 in the tourney and may not get in.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 9:08 pmSo I had this convo todaylifelongsteel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 8:54 pmShould be a C. I will go with a Solid B.
I saw progress yesterday, and I think we could get up to mediocre on offense, by the end of the regular season.
If we brought our A game on D and our mediocre offense brought their A game we could beat anybody for one game and one week, not consecutively mind you.
So if we squeaked to the AFC championship with ugly wins, and not expending mass energy and injuries, I could see us with a puncher's chance with the aforementioned A games being brought to bear on the Chiefs, and the Chiefs not bringing their A game.
And you know what, with Porter, we can probably neutralize a Kelce, or AJ Brown and maybe even a Deebo or Aiyuk if they decided to go that route in coverage. Porter has been really impressive...he is going to be a lock down corner it would seem.
I'd waste Porter on Kelce for one game.

If Kenny and the offense keep showing progress, this team can win a playoff game give anybody a war after that.

I'm between a B & C, if they get a home playoff game and the offense improves I could see them winning a playoff game, and possibly making it to the conference championship, KC is the only team in the AFC I think would be a for sure loss in the playoffs, not real impressed with any other AFC teams. I think Steelers defense is going to be dominant by the end of the year if they stay healthy, the addition of JPJ into the lineup has helped tremendously, I think we finally hit a home run on a corner in the draft. With a strong defense and a good to great running game (over 150 yards for 4 straight games, which was last done by the Steelers in 04) anything is possible, especially if they win the turnover battle, I just need to see Kenny improve to at least competent game manager.

G. They will feast on backup QBs and weak teams on their way to a smoke and mirrors 11 win season, yet never beat any of those bad teams by more than 1 score. Then get a road match against a SB contender like Jax, KC, or Miami and get embarrassingly destroyed on both sides of the ball in the playoffs. It will be good enough to continue as business as usual and the promoted OCs will be made permanent. Next year they will again win more games than they lose without being a serious contender for the SB. 9+ wins is the goal, and I hate it.
At a solid B. I think they have a good chance to win the norf, and maybe get the 2nd seed. Now this is contingent on the 400 yd game not being an outlier, and Sully getting KP8 to show what he's all about. This O could be scary if they're able to win TOP like they did for the 2nd half of last year (best in the league during that stretch), and against the bungs on Sunday. If Minkah comes back next week, that D could be formidable, much better than the fraudulent stats based #2 D of the ratbirds.
If they get that PO win, and Pickett shows accelerated improvements in the next 6-8 weeks, then even with all the warts from the fraud's dumbshit playcalls & scripts, the season would have met my realistic expectations, and would be a success.
Right on track for making a true run in the next two years, which I think isn't too bad for a team that in reality has been rebuilding for the last 3-4 years.

I read that Kazee said he'd be back for the Cards game in his post game interviews. I'll try to find it.

Miami has beaten nobody and Tua, in year 4, has never even started a playoff game. The next big game he wins will be his first.Steelperch wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 11:51 pmG. Dude is also a lot of Josh Allen without the toughness. Even against bad teams he's always good for 1 or 2 absolutely horrible picks pretty much every game.
McDaniel is one helluva coach though. He's smart enough to know Tua is the consummate China Doll and tries to make sure Tua gets rid of the ball as fast as is humanly possible. Still lately Tua's been taking more shots than he was early in the season and his habit of falling and slamming his head hard on the field is still there.
I agree the Steelers (and everybody else) would struggle with Jax or KC right now, but how bout the Dolphins beat a team with a pulse before we call them Super Bowl contenders?
