Barely 6 inches from what I am seeing at Orchard Park. Fucking Big Grocery!

That is like Phoenix, Dallas and Miami hitting 100 degrees in summer. Like San Fran getting fog.

What a crock. I hate waiting!
Big Grocery??? WTF?

You're missing the big scoop. Snow miser has them all bought off and bet on Buffalo.

Seems to me that this was the Governor's call, not the NFL's....and....weather will still be bad on Monday, will still equalize some. I don't like it either, but let's not bedew about it.

Anyone who feels the Steelers are “getting screwed” is pretty much admitting the Steelers are so much worse than the Bills that they can’t win without the help of the elements.
The only issue I have is the Monday part of it. That gives us one less day to prep for Baltimore but luckily the Steelers know them pretty well. So that kind of helps a teeny tiny bit. It is better than having to play a team we have not played in the last year or two.
How do you know we wouldn't have played Baltimore on Saturday?

I guarantee you we will play them Sunday now. They will not make the winner of our game play on Saturday.

I like seeing big games played in nasty weather.

Now I'm not getting one.
The NFL should remember that the Tom Brady Legacy took it's 3rd step in a blizzard game against The Raiders.
Not to mention NFL N loves showing old clips of the weather games and violence the league was built upon.
There was a difference between the Tuck Rule Game and what this storm is shaping up to be

Not even remotely the same weather except the snow.

There's bad weather and I have to concede there is unrealistic weather.

The issue isn't play of the field it's fans getting killed or having heart attacks trying to get in and out.

No matter what day we play them we already lost a day of prep by playing on Monday.
I wonder if the NFL will put Pitt @ Balt on Sunday primetime even though that soft piece of shit Harbawl complains to the league about Primetime Pittsburgh.

It's not unrealistic if this were 1974.

However, in litigious post-America there would be millions in damages if they did not postpone.

Gotta say...much as I hate this, I think it was the responsible thing to do. And....if played tomorrow, and Steelers won, I think they would have def played Baltimore on Saturday....both AFC games would have been then, with NFC games on Sunday. Clearly the TB/Philly winner on Monday would have played on Sunday, other NFC games are tomorrow. I had figured it would have been a Saturday game v. Baltimore

Other thing....should Steelers win on Monday, let's just happy AF and not worry about a short week.

This is not unrealistic weather.
The NFL has never played a game where there were 65 mph winds, and I already posted a link to the first ever NFL playoff game in 1932 which was played indoors because of snow, wind and freezing temps.

This is not "realistic weather" and if it is still like this tomorrow there is no reason to play a game under these conditions.

PS only the over under changed. The actual line did not jump up for Buffalo.

Well i see you ve shifted now from blizzard like conditions to the wind...its 25 mph with occasional wind gusts up to 50. I was listening to a buffalo radio station yesterday, buffalo weatherman who the bills and the nfl are in contact with and he said there was nothing in the forecast that should cause this game to be postponed, no crazy amount of snow and less wind than the NE wind game last year. But that lady governor must know better since it was apperently her call Whatever, it is what it is, but dont believe the hype. I'm certainly not.

Let’s also just acknowledge that this kind of weather is way more likely with the season growing longer and pushed further into the winter. In 1974 the Super Bowl was played on January 13th. In 2024 the playoffs didn’t even start until Jan. 13th.

This x 100. If the owners had their way, the SB would be played after March Madness.

Too bad we can't go back to 14 games. Notice the number of backups playing in these rounds.

Meh. The only thing that sucks about this is the early time on Monday, but at least it’s a holiday for most. If Steelers cannot beat the Bills absent a blizzard, then they don’t deserve to win.

Ain't a damn holiday for me, fuck the NFL...that will now make 4 of the last 5 Steeler games I've had to watch at work on my computer instead of in my cozy man cave with a cooler full of beer, the way a game should be enjoyed.

Aside from then wind and temperatures

I think the real issue is, you park at 11-12 ish, and then try to leave at 4:30ish, and your car and the parking lot is buried in a couple feet of snow

70k people aren’t getting out of that anytime soon

oh well this has always been a possibility. Make indoor stadiums mandatory then.

Honest question:

Wasn’t the argument for Buffalo’s new stadium not having a roof that football is supposed to be played in the elements?

This is multiple games in recent years that have been rescheduled due to weather.

Do we want the elements to be a factor or not?

Thank you JJ

I’m going to assume that you’ve never actually been in a situation where your car and thousands of other cars were all buried in 2 to 3 feet of snow

When I originally read that they were anticipating 6 inches of snow during game time, I was all up in arms about the postponement

Upon learning that the snowfall is likely to be between 2 -3 feet

That’s a whole different dealio

Snow doesn’t just evaporate when you shovel or plow it

It has to go somewhere

And in a parking lot, that means it’s almost definitely going on another car

And having had multiple 4 wheel drive suvs I can promise you 2 - 3 feet of snow is no picknick, and each car that gets stuck makes it exponentially worse

In the scenario I’m talking about, people wouldn’t get home for 6 hours, assuming they got home

It would be a massive clusterphuk

Cars running out of gas

People having heart attacks and strokes

emergency vehicles not able to get through because of all the stuck cars int the way

Total fucking nightmare

People up here and in buffalo mostly dont drive cars that are being buried in 2 or 3 feet of snow. The big blizzard last year in Buffalo was alot to deal with, this weekends weather is not that big of a deal, way way overblown.
