Whew. I though I was the only one eating paint chips off old buildings during Steeler fourth quarters.

We want volunteers not hostages.
To hop on a moving train.
Cause its not what you are capable of,
Its what are you are willing to do.
For we do not care.
With the next man up.
We will paint the barn red.

Mitch Trubisky had the look of a hostage and not an eager volunteer in the few games he played.

Mike Tomlin in the style of Longfellow:
This is the offense primeval. Predictable sweeps and screens,
Playbook covered with moss, and in laminated vaults indistinct yellow highlights,
Douchey-deuce watches like druids of eld, with voices sad and prophetic,
Coach stands with shades faux cool, like potted plant or PennDot flagman.
Loud from the Allegheny canyons, the deep-voiced neighboring yinzers
Speak, and in accents disconsolate after a scoreless first quarters
This is the offense primeval; but where are the hearts that beneath it
Leaped into a stacked box, and he wails when Najee fells into a pile
Where is the pre-snap motion or play-action whimsy,
Pickens whose fleet feet glide like Mercury bottled and covered
Crippled by U-shaped offenses only sideline only heaves
Waste are the talents of Watt and Minkah who groan from the sidelines
Scattered like dust and leaves, when the mighty blasts of October
Seize them, and whirl them aloft, and sprinkle their dreams into the Monongahela current
Naught but tradition remains of the 70s Steel Curtain
Ye who believe in Superbowl wins that hopes, and endures, and is patient,
Ye who believe in the futility of NHALS and the glory of Lombardis,
Long for the tradition of cheers still sung by the pines of the Point State Park;
List to a Tale of Glory long gone and forgotten by the nepo-spawn of the Chief

I stole it from Evangeline. It was about Acadia north of Maine. It's an epic poem about French who were displaced by the British and found a new home in Louisiana and the beginnings of Cajun communities.
We had to read it in HS but I actually enjoyed it.
Funny, I thought of Facenda and Sam Spence too, the autumn wind is a Raider. I used to love that so much the Raiders became my second fav team.

Since the 70s/80s the NFL analyst has as a requirement a certificate of authenticity signed by a third party medical professional that they've been lobotomized.
Don Criqui, even though he was paired with that jackass Trumpy a lot.

Jack Buck, I used to fall asleep every Monday to those two guys on my little AM radio. Were they on 1410 KQV, been a long time...
Charlie Jones, with Todd Christensen. They worked well together.
Curt Gowdy, a one man force of cheap booze
Tom Brookshier, Mr Blood and Guts, could call plays before they happened, and added excitement every time, probably also had a tumbler full of cheap booze with him at all times.
Hon Mention
Dan Dildorf, I thought he was great on MNF.

I think I got my love of NFL Films style and production from a teacher in grade school who was also a football coach that instead of teaching would sometimes play NFL Films tapes. This was in the 70s. They were great. We loved them.
I prefer the more contemporary library music composers. They could really set a mood.

This is awesome."The Autumn Wind is a pirate.
Blustering in from sea,
With a rollicking song, he sweeps along,
Swaggering boisterously.
His face is weather beaten.
He wears a hooded sash,
With a silver hat about his head,
And a bristling black mustache.
He growls as he storms the country,
A villain big and bold.
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake,
As he robs them of their gold.
The Autumn Wind is a Raider,
Pillaging just for fun.
He'll knock you 'round and upside down,
And laugh when he's conquered and won."
