SUPERBOWL MEGA THREAD

Post by Orangesteel » Sun Feb 11, 2024 7:08 pm

I got the Niners over the Chiefs 27-23.

McCaffrey deserves a ring for how epic he’s been this season.

Halftime show will suck.

Good day to you all.

I don’t want 9ers to catch us. Good chance if they get #6 they can leap us with #7.

Given we aren’t sniffing a SB for a while it’s better if they remain at 5.

Aside from that, don’t care what happens outside of my squares.

49ers win and cover. Christian McCaffrey for MVP.

The Swifties won't lose feels like a popular concept, but so many of their icon's songs are about frustration and tears. Picking based upon that angle suggests a SF victory. "Love Hertz." - Thomas Brady. Or something to that effect.

I would be entertained by Brandon Aiyuk props wherever they could be found:
Anytime TD (+195)
First TD (+1100)
Over 60.5 yds (-110')
Longest Rec Over 23.5 yds (-110)
Rec Over 4.5 (+120)
SB MVP +6000

I think Purdy and McCaffrey shoot jizz on Mahomes face in this one.

I think the Chiefs are more likely to win. Chiefs defense #2 in points and #2 in yards RS.
They have allowed under 28 points in all 20 of their games, the most such games in a season in NFL history including the postseason. Each of the four teams to do so in all of their games in the Super Bowl era, since 1966 -- the 2000 Ravens (all 19 games), the 2002 Buccaneers (all 19 games), the 2005 Steelers (all 19 games) and the 2010 Packers (all 19 games) -- each won the Super Bowl.

In their last six games, which includes their entire playoff run and their last three regular-season games, Kansas City's defense has been impenetrable in the second half and especially the fourth quarter. They have allowed one touchdown and only 19 points in their last six second halves, including no (none, zilch, zero) touchdowns and just six points in their last six fourth quarters.
Chiefs defense this postseason

Held the Dolphins to season-worsts in points (7), yards per play (4.5) and third downs (1 of 12)
Miami had the longest active NFL streak of averaging 5+ yards per play snapped (17 games).

Held the Bills to their fewest yards-per-pass attempt (4.8) since 2021 and fewest yards per completion (7.2) since 2018
Buffalo had the second-longest active NFL streak of averaging 5+ yards per pass attempt (39 games) snapped.

Held the Ravens to a season-low 81 rush yards and fewest time of possession (22:30) of Lamar Jackson's career
Baltimore had its longest active (also tied for fifth-longest streak in NFL history) with 100+ rush yards snapped (35 games).

There is not enough talk about the Chiefs defense, IMO

Chiefs defense plus Mahomes to Kelce.

Chiefs defense is very good and primarily built on three tremendous defenders in Chris Jones, Sneed, & McDuffie LBs are okay but this team works because Chris Jones is a massive talent and Sneed makes plays in big games.

I took KC +2 but I’m not super confident about it.

My favorite bet is Juwan Jennings over 14.5 yds receiving, followed closely by McCaffery over 33.5 Rec yards and MVS to hit the over as well… something like 16.5.

Bet a parlay: Pacheco to score a rushing TD, Purdy over 12.5 yds rushing, Aiyuk over 60.5 Rec yards.

I bet pretty heavily on the Chiefs via a series of impulsively placed bets last weekend at the bar.

If the Chiefs lose, I may need a couch to crash on for an undetermined amount of time.

I've got $300 on Perch's boy Purdy.

We'll see how it works out.

I sure hope you're right.

I have a broke ass friend that owes me $300.

I told him he could be even with me......or he could owe me $600.

I let him pick the winner. He took the Chiefs.

GO MR IRRELEVANT!!

Also took KC +2.

Pretty shocked that the defending champs with a bunch of guys with 2 rings are dogs. SF may be the better overall team, but experience in this game counts for a lot. Just ask Tomlin.

I predict Purdy plays well and they keep it close to the end… but Patty is pretty fuckin special.

I think Mahomes is GOAT when it's all said and done.

That's why I'm rooting for KC. Would love to see someone surpass the Cheatriots.

If he throws a pick 6, or throws a pick inside either 20...

Great looking opening drive for the Gold Diggers...

Killer fumble.

Probably points off the board for them

Can’t stand either team.

My distain and hatred goes back further for the whiners.

That said, I won’t be watching because I’d rather watch 4 continuous hours of lame ass commercials than one minute of this ‘scripted’ Super Bowl.

I hope each and everyone from the nfl commissioner, the entire teams and their fans all the way down to the stadium toilet seat cleaner get crabs.
