Wow. Didn't think we had it in us.

That opens up getting a QB in round 1.

I posted a couple of days ago a source I know said Pickett was very upset.

Still shocking.

Wow, I really like the pick swap in this trade. That’s a fantastic deal for the Steelers.

He wanted out so badly . . . that he got traded to a team for whom he'll never be the #1. Fuck off jag off!

“Wow” doesn’t even begin to express the shock I’m in.
This isn’t the organization that we’ve all come to know and not always love!

Don't give a shit about Kenny being traded because I never wanted him in the first place but this all but confirms that 37 year old Russell Wilson will be the Steelers starter in 2025. So that sucks.

Honestly, this just shows he's not a competitor to me. Would rather go to a team that has a bonafide QB1 rather than fight for his spot. Good riddance.

Yeah, it is a bit curious, but I imagine he didn’t pick the team.

Just reported on 93.7 he was traded because of how poorly he handled the Russell Wilson acquisition. After refusing to be the emergency QB late in the year, that did it.

So, we got the equivalent of a mid-4th rounder after trade value chart math. I assume we save ~$2M in cap, too?

EDIT: Nope! Looks like we spent $3.7M of our '24 cap to move up 22 picks (from 120 to 98) and we still have to spend cap money to replace Pickett. OMG. What a colossal F up.

What a disaster pick he was. At least they admitted their mistake early -- that's a change.

Actually, if anything, I think it increases the odds the Steelers draft a QB this year who may be able to come in and compete.

Pickett was a sunk cost.

OMG.

I just fell to my knees in a Costco parking lot.

Has someone checked on KC? I feel like he still thought that Kenny would “turn it around”.

Well Pickett never got a fair shake with Canada being the OC.

I know some of you had him written off already. I was pretty close as well, but my write off had asterisks.

Hope it blows up in Tomlin's face and then we can get a new head coach that knows offense or can hire people that will actually develop into a coaching tree.

Thought the Wilson (edit: courting from trade) was good with Pickett in the mix and each pushing each other for a starting job.

Now the Wilson trade is awful!

Guaranteed elbow or Achilles injury coming up!

I will add the caveat that if they pull off a big draft move for a bonafide FQB, then it was a genius move. But if we go riding into the season with Wilson and some scrubs….JHFC!
