For a 6th that can turn into a 4th. Lotto ticket really.

Compensation is a 2025 6th round pick that can elevate up a 2025 4th round pick if Fields plays 51% of the plays this coming season.

What a wild ass offseason.

Weidl or Khan or whoever just essentially traded Pickett for Fields. Highway robbery. Great job

We are light years ahead of last years QB room, in terms of raw talent. Lets hope Smith can bring out the best in them.

The more I think about it. No downside. Khan/Weidl winning me over. Finally being active in improving the team.

Kenny knob gobblers haven’t realized he sucks or that he quit on you (twice) yet. Sad. We have two far better QBs on the roster now, why waste a second on that quitting bitch?

They hadn't met with a single QB that I can think of this draft process so far. That's why I was thinking at best they toss a dart at a late round guy or a UDFA.

Maybe that still happens, but seems like a draft pick this year is unlikely.

Wow I mean for a team that made the dance last season they aren’t being complacent.

I’m a huge fan of this regardless of the outcome.

By draft value chart, we basically traded Pickett for Fields + a late 4th. Not ideal how Fields and Wilson are both in one-and-donish contract situations, but hard to complain too much.

I must have been watching a different Fields then you guys have been watching, I think he looked like garbage. At least when this blows up Tomlin will finally be fired.

I'm not impressed with Fields. Run's like a poor man's LJ, which is good, but has trash accuracy. He's cheap, and not a bad backup, at all. But I'd probably stop short of calling it a lotto ticket, or robbery.

Fields and Wilson are more high profile names than usual, but seems we may be falling into the familiar offseason trap of thinking Khan is wheeling-and-dealing to get "value picks" that no one else wanted.

Although could be interesting if they go nuts and throw a lot of Fields out in wildcat or as a change of pace. No one has done it in the NFL, at least not successfully that I'm aware of, but imagine defenses being forced to prepare for BOTH Wilson and Fields?

Show me where I gobbled Pickett’s knob once. I just don’t believe the QB is the problem.

Keep sucking Tomlin cock. That coach is an unquestioned super genius.

Nah, the Tomlin ball washers will just blame Kahn and AR2. Anyone but mediocre Mike.

This team is infuriating.

Fields does suck but he can be a good number 2. Problem is we gave away draft capital for a one yr player. If Wilson gets hurt that turns into a 4th rounder.

My guess is they don't pick up the 5th year option and sign him to a smaller extension through 2025.

That way in 2025 they'll have Fields and then likely a high draft pick made in 2025 to battle it out.

Right.

Because Tomlin has brought out the best in QBs in his 17 years of “leadership”

The only guy who played great QB under Tomlin was Ben, a guy he never had to coach. Tomlin has a 17 year track record of nothing WRT QBs.

Fields is 10-28 as a starter, with 40 TD passes, 30 INT's and 38 fumbles....in 40 games.

Yep, HUGE upgrade over Pickett right there.

Kenny was gone no matter what.

Same with Mason.

Got rid of those two guys for a marginal upgrade but an increase in the ESG score, which is nice.

At least this season will be different. Fields is a good runner for a QB.

Kenny's shit attitude washed him out. If he was even a little humble and not a diva douche without pedigree, he would probably be starting. Fucking idiot. Another dumb QB with delusions of grandeur caused in part by people telling him how awesome he is.
