I think Lowry is guaranteed a spot, Loudermilk pretty gone.

Not bad for post draft April. Lot of variables going forward.
Still have F/A 2.0 to navigate. I do agree Lowdermilk was a reach and has essentially confirmed it.
I believe Leal will make the group unless he shows up outta shape and stinks it up in Camp/ OTA’s.

I think Loudermilk is safe, at least compared to Leal.
Leal is on his way out based on his PT and then removal of even getting a helmet for gamedays towards the end of last season.

loudermilk got helmets over leal late in the season for ST play. He got 3 snaps or less on D in 4 of the last 7 games. When we actually needed someone to play defense, Leal started over Loudermilk. I wouldn’t be surprised if both get cut, but Leal at least has #3 DE upside. Loudermilk has no chance of being a top 5 DL on a decent roster at this point.

I’ll add Loudermilk to the bubble

I've actually seen Loudermilk make a play here and there. Once in a blue moon he's been impressive.Mick wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 10:08 pmloudermilk got helmets over leal late in the season for ST play. He got 3 snaps or less on D in 4 of the last 7 games. I've honest to Christ never seen Leal do a fucking thing. Not once. Ever.

Ok, I never stated I had any allegiance to either player. The reason I picked Leal over Loudermilk is simple.K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 9:33 pmThe next play Leal makes will be his first.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 7:57 pmNot bad for post draft April. Lot of variables going forward.

Lowdermilk has done less longer. Been on this team and has never developed beyond what ever the hell he is now.
When you compare the two it’s obvious which player sees more playing time. I wonder why that is?
Anyway….
On defense Lowdermilk had 181 snaps and 82 snaps on ST’s in 2023. Did fuck all.
On defense Leal had 206 snaps and 23 snaps on ST’s in 2023. Did fuck all.
They both suck. Now if you have to chose you look at who’s been here longer and has been played less and done less.
Simple logic for me to cut the fat and look at next man up. Perhaps both are sent packing.

The sad fact is both Leal and Loudermilk have been on a bad DL multiple years and not really done ANYTHING of note
If we had a solid starting DL unit maybe you could justify both as try hard backups but that’s not the case
Both are bubble players.
I have the DL at 7 but it could very be 6
At least one and maybe 2 of Lee Leal Loudermilk and Lowry are getting cut. And let’s be honest. None of them are gonna be a big loss

Yes Milk and Leal misses so far one will be cut
Oh, I'm not slamming what you wrote at all. Both players very, very possibly will be gone before the season starts.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:09 amOk, I never stated I had any allegiance to either player. That said, my only point is this: I have actually (rarely, but it has happened) seen Loudermilk make a nice play or 2.
Leal literally hasn't done ANYTHING. I'm not sure I've ever seen a somewhat heralded player like Leal honest to Christ never even make one halfway decent play.
So, both suck. I won't deny that, but Leal is a paycheck thief of the highest order and whatever happens with Loudermilk, Leal is a far more disappointing player.

Brian Batko’s Steelers roster.
I believe This is a really good guess to what may actually unfold for roster.
One thing I would add is perhaps a veteran player added post June 1. We’ll see.
Locks
1. Russell Wilson, QB1 2. Justin Fields, QB2
3. Najee Harris, RB1 4. Jaylen Warren, RB2 5. Cordarrelle Patterson, RB3/KR

Interesting note from article: “If there’s a notable name not among the aforementioned, you may count Isaiahh Loudermilk, but it feels as if he’s regressed since his rookie year. The defensive line group is a particularly tough one to crack, too.”
