Snap Counts vs Atlanta
Snap Counts vs Atlanta
For those of you who like these breakdowns.
68 offensive snaps, to 56 for Atlanta
35:36 time of possession
We did not have 68 snaps in a game last year until week 11 vs Cincy ( 71 )
Only exceeded more than 68 three times last year.
Keeping the offense on the field more was a huge problem last year.
I believe only one 3 and out on Sunday?
That sole 3 and out series, cost us our punter.
Justin Fields and OL - all 68 offensive snaps
Van the Man. 49 offensive snaps. 2 targets. 1 catch, 1 yard.
That can not continue.
Najee only 38 of 68. 56%. Pretty low from what I thought.
But he was only 53% for the entire 2023 season, which was the lowest of his career,
mostly die to JW coming on as the season wore on.
Najee - 84% his rookie year - yikes, 66% and 53% last year.
Jaylen Warren only 21 snaps. I assume kept lite coming back from injury.
I will also assume, less Cord Patt this week and a bit more JW.
132 snaps from TE's
Pat Freiermuth TE 50 74% 0 0% 6 24%
Van Jefferson WR 49 72% 0 0% 0 0%

Connor Heyward TE 5 7% 0 0% 17 68%
Defense - 56 snaps.
3 guys all 56.
JPJ may have been the 4th....but came out a few plays to check his injury.
TJ at 89% a bit too high for week 1.
83% for entire 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Remember, getting out of week 1 without a major is huge.
and AH at 88% ( 81% for 2023 )
Herbig - only 30%
Leal only 5 snaps.
Will need to see better rotation at OLB week 2, especially at one mile high.
Queen -56
Payton -24
Roberts - 23
Looks like the later two split snaps.
I noticed Payton alot more in same amount of snaps as Roberts.
Can not recall Roberts.
PW 3 tackles, 3 assists
PQ 2,2
Roberts....goose egg in 23 snaps.

Thanks Stosh...I like seeing snap counts
The thing that really stands out to me is Pickens at 68%. I didn't get to watch the game. Did GP get dinged? If not, he needs to be on the field for close to 100% of the snaps.
Concur on the OLB rotation. Hopefully we'll see Herbig get more snaps as the year progresses. I'll also say that the D-Line rotation was pretty good.
However, one thing to consider - The *TOTAL* amount of snaps played by the Defense was pretty low overall. So while Watt played a higher percentage than last season, his total snap count (50) was about 5 or 6 less than his per game average last season.
As it turns out, you don't need to rotate your defensive guys as much when you're not going 3 & out or turning the ball over on every possession.

This. We actually had sustained drives this game. No tuddies but we moved the ball.Pabst wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 5:40 pmConcur on the OLB rotation. Hopefully we'll see Herbig get more snaps as the year progresses. I'll also say that the D-Line rotation was pretty good.

I still maintain we need to come out guns ablazing this week in Denver. Payton might think Tomlin wants to drag him down into an ugly slop fest. Would be rad if Smith opens the playbook and we try to hang 30.

I know.
You have always been a fan of my snap count threads. LOL.

Anyone see all 3 on field at same time.
