Doorslammers Denver
In an up and down game for every Steelers unit 3 players stood out
Chris Boswell yet again paced the Steelers scoring
Corliss Waitmann flipped the field multiple times and had he not the Steelers path to victory likely would’ve been even more difficult
George Pickens played great. Without him the Steelers offense probably loses this game
Way to slam that door guys !!!
Notes:
- Fields has the tools. He has A LONG way to go as a QB. When it mattered he came up small. Although to be fair he did not turn the ball over
- The Steelers DBs played great most of the game. Except late. That needs to change.
- Watt despite playing well early as usual disappeared late.
- Tomlin and the rest of the coaching staff yet again refused to put the game away and were reduced to hoping and praying a weak team led by a rookie QB did not come back and win late
- A win is win and the Steelers are on top of the AFC North at 2-0 but you get the feeling that all associated glory is fleeting and this remains a team that doesn’t look like it can position itself for a serious run at a Lombardi. For many reasons. On both sides of the ball.
Hope does spring eternal however !!!
Go Steelers !!!

I can’t even imagine how one dimensional and inept this offense would be without Pickens.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:34 pmGeorge Pickens played great. Without him the Steelers offense probably loses this game
Pickens two best plays today didn’t count. He should’ve, almost single handedly, blown the game open himself.Steelperch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:09 amI can’t even imagine how one dimensional and inept this offense would be without Pickens.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:34 pmGeorge Pickens played great. If I’m a DC I double Pickens every play until the Steelers show me they can exploit that for TDsSteelperch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:09 amI can’t even imagine how one dimensional and inept this offense would be without Pickens.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:34 pmGeorge Pickens played great. 9 in the box and 2 on Pickens is all you need.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:13 amIf I’m a DC I double Pickens every play until the Steelers show me they can exploit that for TDsSteelperch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:09 amI can’t even imagine how one dimensional and inept this offense would be without Pickens.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:34 pmGeorge Pickens played great. Steelers should trade for Diontae Johnson or Adam Thelein

Van Jefferson hasn’t shown shit other than he’s not a #2.

2-0 after playing an injured statute and a hopeless rookie as opposing QBs.
Fields showing off what he can do well (a great deep ball, can get out of the pocket and make plays with his feet outside of the called offense), while being shielded from showing what he does poorly (anything requiring using that lump between his ears). The fans still having optimism he might be... something.
The defense playing downhill and looking fast and athletic (we do genuinely look a lot faster on D this year compared to last season).
Looking to me like 9-8, a seventh seed, and being down 24-3 at halftime against the Texans in the wildcard round. Wash, rinse, repeat, die.

Did you miss the big TFL late in the game? Or the key pressure that forced an incomplete on 3rd down? Watt played a good game.

I take umbrage with this comment. Watt did not disappear late. He was constantly double teamed and he continued to put pressure on the offense. Just because he didn't sack the QB multiple times doesn't mean he "disappeared."SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:34 pm

Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS.
