Wait, what are those dots between the hashes? I didn't think dots were allowed there. I'm confused.Deebo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:53 pmA slight uptick from last week:

The worst part is, this chart looks significantly better if you add in the ones called back on penalties.
But teams are going to move up just like last year until you can show them you can burn them further than 10 yards past the LOS

Pardon the dumb question, but why is this chart only showing 18 pass attempts when the stat line is 13/20?
I don't recall any spiked balls, but were there throwaways not being counted?

They have one throw in two games that is beyond 7 yards downfield and in between the numbers (and it was nearly intercepted). How is that an uptick?Deebo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:53 pmA slight uptick from last week:

Because it was one more than last game? Tip your waitresses, try the veal. I'm here all week.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 3:37 pmThey have one throw in two games that is beyond 7 yards downfield and in between the numbers (and it was nearly intercepted). Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Last year, I did some research on MOF passing in the NFL using official play by play data. Here are the interesting bits:
1. On average, about 20% of throws were classified as "middle"
2. Interception rate on those throws was more than twice that of "left" or "right" throws.
3. Despite those interceptions, MOF throws are more efficient (all metrics: epa, ypa, aypa) than outside throws.
The other interesting bit was Kenny Pickett threw about 20% (approx. league average) of his passes in the MOF with mid efficiency numbers. He was, however, horribly inefficient throwing outside. Like close to worst in the league bad.

Roman Wilson needs to get his ass on the field.
Any reason he couldn’t be used like Covey was used last evening? Soft spots in zone, quick outs, kept chains moving for the Eagles on a night where their #1 receiver was out. Basically won the game then choked it away.
We need offensive skill players to contribute. After Pat’s catch on the scoring drive where the hell was he the rest of the game? I honestly don’t remember a SINGLE good/decent offensive play on Sunday during the second half. I blinked and there was 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
We need to figure this shit out.

Yeah but then you can't have 3 TEs on the field the highest percentage of time in the NFL.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 4:30 pmRoman Wilson needs to get his ass on the field.

Not sure, Pabst, but my best guess would be maybe they removed the few pass plays where they came back for an excepted O penalty?

These charts also should show yards gained on DPI calls, with a separate color
Passes do not need to be complete to be successful
Someone tell Tomlin
In the case of the Steelers, the chart should also show what would have been completions but for dumbass penalties

Muth was so open at times it was almost comical. If they hit some of those plays it would at the very least take the pressure off Pickens to make highlight reel plays for the Steelers to have any passing game.
