Fear Aidan O'Connell
Raiders named him the starting QB vs the Steelers this week. I expect a 300 yard, 3 TD performance for Mr. O'Connell.

Doesn’t matter. Raiders by 10.

The totality of his tape is limited, if you will, pertaining to how we determine which blades of grass we strive to defend once inside the arena. That limited tape also limits how we plan to manage snap counts and which defenders to put on blades of grass in those moments we are not actively engaging them in an alternate snap count strategy.
Our plan will be to ease into the game, use the 1st half to gather information, and will then determine our strategy moving into the later innings as it pertains to defending real estate and how the defense of that real estate impacts pitch count.

To be honest whichoo, we don't have time to reflect on our abundance of gifts and nourishment in terms of the love of the game of football. We are on to the next matchup, quite frankly. You can get into hypotheticals and what not, honestly, we have no care for none of that. We have a job to do and that's all we care about in this moment and embrace that, and so forf.955876 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 7:40 pmThe totality of his tape is limited, if you will, pertaining to how we determine which blades of grass we strive to defend once inside the arena. Not so bold prediction? If we make the switch to Wilson, it's going to lead to Tomlin switching back and forth every couple of games, in a higher-class version of the Duck/Bibberty Experience from a few seasons back.

We're not going to be the indians in Aidan O'Connell's cowboy movie.

Even if you're the world's biggest Bibbs fan (and a few of them walk this site in one form or another), Duck drags the tandem down, and Russ is at least a borderline HOFer, while Fields is better than either of the other two, as well. So, yeah, a higher class version of the same quandary.

I’m never one to openly root for losses like a couple posters this season.
However,
This week feels different.
I may….MAY…switch to the dark side and openly root for a loss.
OR
At the very least I can find a silver (and black) lining should a loss occur.
Anyway,
Stupid weather delay put me to bed early in the game last week, but I was confident (over) the Black and Gold would pull out a win.
Wrong (obviously)
Never mind the poor coaching, poor overall play etc etc.
I fell into the trap that is the weekly injury report.
The Cowboys were down several key starters including like ALL of their edge rushers.
The game was at home on national tv versus a historical rival.
What could go wrong indeed.
Fast forward to Sunday.
I have buddies going out to the Vegas for the game (I opted for T-Town).
They’re not the message board types.
They probably couldn’t name half the players on the Steelers let alone give a rip about the injury report for either team.
I admire their apathy.
But
Here we are again.
Davonte Adams is out.
Christian Wilkins is out.
Aidan O’Connell is in.
Historical Rivalry game.
A feed the "Open Fucking Always" (The ELA teacher in me wants to puke reading that) Pickens game awaits.
Hell, maybe Russell Wilson awaits.
Maybe Fields, feeling the Russ heat, balls out (HATE that term).
Coach T’s got this right?
Wrong
Nobody….NOBODY…that follows the Steelers as closely as we all do will be remotely “SURPRISED” if (when) the Steelers go out to Vegas and shit the bed in front of 50,000 terrible towels.
It’s my own reaction to that impending debacle that will be “SURPRISING”
Hell yes I expect Aidan O’Connell to shred 10 yards behind every play, Minkah.
Hell no I don’t expect the Steelers offense to score more than a dozen.
I won’t be mad
I won’t even be disappointed
My reaction will be, “GOOD. Back to back weeks Tomlin had a CLEAR ADVANTAGE over his opponent and he LOST. Somebody let Deuce know that after he wakes up from his nap.”
WAKE THE FUCK UP, ART!
Lousy thug

I had tickets to the game this week as I live in So Cal and Vegas is a 3-hour drive (we go 5-6 times a year as my Wife's Parents and Sister live in Henderson). I sold my tickets as I don't want to waste my time watching this Sorry Arse team folding to the Chokeland Faiders. I LOATHE coach Jibbs and what he's done to our team.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 4:24 pmI’m never one to openly root for losses like a couple posters this season.

I could see this going the way of that Texans game where the Steelers lost despite outgaining the Texans 500 yards to 35 yards.
In what world do the Steelers gain 500 yards???TimmayLake wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 6:11 pmI could see this going the way of that Texans game where the Steelers lost despite outgaining the Texans 500 yards to 35 yards.

I'm expecting the 2024 version of Clint Longly
add to it, it's the Raiders and away... that's usually a pretty good recipe for a Tomlin team to play like shit, and lose to an inferior opponent.
All though, I'm not so sure the Raiders are inferior-
Anywho

This season has the potential to be historic in Steelers lore.
I don't know. I think the smart money is on they drag their bleeding carcass across the NHALS threshold yet again.

The only thing I fear is Mike Tomlin as the Steelers' head coach.

Michael McDonald wrote several Tomlin theme songs:

How Do The Fools Survive (get hired by a Rooney)
I Keep Forgetting (what to do on fourth and two)
It Keeps You Running (and not passing)
Unlike Tomlin, McDonald is an innovator (change the Doobies sound) and one smooth motherfucker
