Snapaddicts,
"And you know who you are".........
78 offensive snaps, to 64 for the W
More offensive snaps in 7 of first 9 games. ( Giants & Dallas )
Won the TOP battle again
36:11 time of possession. Keeping the ball out of an offensive that has been pretty good in 2024. No B. Robinson helped.
After 9 weeks,
Won TOP in 7 of 9 games ( Giants & Dallas )
The Steelers are 5th in the NFL in TOP. only 45 seconds behind #1 Houston.
Now 12th in scoring.
Still seeing some faster paced, up tempo offense at times.
Not sure how many times they went no huddle.
Offense
Season high 78 snaps.
Russ and 3 of the OL all 78 snaps.
Broderick - 77 and Seumalo - 76 both came out for a snaps
The Anderson boys, Spencer ( 4 ) and Calvin ( 1 ), each came in.
So extra OL / 6th man, on 2 sets.
WRs
Pickens -63 - Loves him some Russ.
Before Russ and After Russ stats.
BR - 26-363-13.9-0 in 6 games
AR - 14-276-19.7-2TD ( and 2 TDs robbed ) in 3 games.
Once again, he does more with less opportunities than any WR in the NFL. Only 7 targets.
Get this man a slant or two, want to see him catch with some room
Van - 55 - took way too many snaps from Williams. Need to change. Mike gets his hands on several balls that went over or past Van.
Austin - 35. There should be more crossing patterns with this kid. Nobody is keeping up with him horizontally ( repeated comment from last week )
M. Williams -9 ...........I like Mike. Needs to see 45-50 snaps on Sunday. Or more.
Skowroneck - 5 Anyone know the run / pass ratio every time this guy is on the field. I remember he cam on the one Russ sack. He may have been the deep PA target, as I believe it was 3 TE, 1 back and 1 WR
RBs
Najee - 37 - did not get 4th straight 100 yard game. The back and forth stuck and stuttering was back for the middle portions of this games. Was more decisive like last 3 weeks as the game wore on.
Warren -35 - Better each week. 25 for 112, 4.5 avg. last two weeks.
They need to get him in route more often.
Patterson - 8 snaps. seems like when he is in the game.....its a 50 % chance he touches the ball. Nice blitz pickup if I recall.
TEs
Darnell - 50 May be first game he led TEs in snaps.
( still think he would be an easy 2-3 catches a game chipping and running straight 5-7 yards and turning around. He is massive, LB would have to run thru his back ) -REDZONE.
He did not get his head turned around on that quick inside slant, left to right.
I liked what they had set up to him with the TE screen to the left, 2 or 3 blockers were gonna lead him. Bad pass or batted down?
Mooth -48 making the most of his targets. TD
Darnell had 7 catches last year. In 2024 he is at 11 for 120 and his only TD. 11 catches on 12 targets.
Who wants to tackle this kid. Thought I saw someone mention he is close to 3 bills? He may be. When the huddle breaks, watch him standing next to other players. Listed at 6'-7" 264...2 years in the NFL he is certainly 285+
MyCole Pruitt - 34
Co. Heyward - 9 - Need a better option when we employee the in-line FB.
Think outside the box. I bet Elandon Roberts would love an opportunity at that FB position once or twice....goal line.
DEFENSE
Minka and Queen all 64 snaps,
ILBs
Queen -64 ( 6 solo, 1 assists = 7 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 PD )
Elandon Roberts - 43 ( 4 + 1 = 5 ) More snaps than Payton for first time in a bit.
Payton Wilson 13 ( 1 and 0 = 1 )
OLB's
T.J. Watt - 56 - 88% ( 0 tackles or assists, 1 PD, 2 QBH ) late game heat, but doubled, chipped, etc...too often. Did they move him around this week. I do not recall.
Highsmith - 51 ( 0 tackles or assists as well, 1 QBH ) but late game heat, and the ankle turner on the QB hit. Praying for a sprain.
Preston -23 ( 3 + 0 = 3, 1 sack, 2 TFL, 1 QBH ) Listed as DE in the stats sheet. Will not provide the speed and the bend of Highsmith. But pretty impressive stat sheet in limited snaps.
DBs
Porter - 63 ( 4 + 4 = 8 )
Donte Jackson - 45 ( 2 + 0 = 2 , 1 TFL )
Minka - 64 ( 4 + 0 = 4 ) He was camped out 20 yards deep almost the whole game. - repeat comment from last week - and back pedaling upon snap. ) Too much space in the middle of the field.
DeShon Elliott - 45 ( 4 + 2 = 6, 1 TFL ) did not realize he was off the field that much- 21 snaps shy of full
These two are having to make fewer tackles....good sign.
Beanie Bishop -33 ( 0 + 3 = 3 )
Sutton - 19 - Have to think he sees 30-40 snaps vs Ravens and gets CB snaps over Pierre if #1 & #2 get dinged.
Kazee - 19
Pierre - 13
Killebrew -1
Dline
Cameron Heyward - 55 ( 2 + 0 = 2, 2 Sacks, 2 QBH, 2 TFL & 1 PD ) filling the stats sheets in many ways.
Keeanu Benton -55 ( 1 + 0 = 1, 1 PD )
Both CH and KB playing alot of snaps - 86% Adams back soon to give a breather.
Larry Ogunjobi -39 ( 2 + 1 = 3, 1 TFL )
Isaiahh Loudermilk - 7
Lowry - 2
6 total QB hits this game. ( half as many as last game )
Don't get snappy with me.......unless your talking Steelers football.

Pretty dead on.Patterson - 8 snaps. seems like when he is in the game.....its a 50 % chance he touches the ball. Nice blitz pickup if I recall.
26 combined rushes and targets in 53 snaps.
He's in the game, 50/50 chance of touching the ball.
Seems very slow on the kick off returns.
He needed to delay a bit and let his blocker make some room on that last 3rd down run left.
I believe he had a big looking to plow him to the first down marker and he ran past him before slowing to stay in bounds.

Thanks stosh...look forward to this evwry week
Teams are chipping and sliding protection towards Watt. They need to dial up some blitzes where Watt drops into coverage after the chip. I think you'd get some cheap sacks and force teams to play Watt a little more honestly.
