Alfredo Roberts & Kevin Faulkner Countdown

Post by Steelersfan » Wed Feb 19, 2025 1:06 am

2 years & 1 off season month & counting????

It seems pretty clear that Art II will allow Teryl Austin & Mike Sullivan to continue to fleece the fans of their money. Not sure how those two get a pass but, according to the news, it is what it is.

The 2 biggest firings that need to happen are the worst TE & RB coach in THE HISTORY OF THE NFL. Alfredo & Faulkner need to go, whether their contract is up OR NOT. Their firing countdown should have started 2 or 3 seasons back. Neither has yet to coach a SINGLE player "up". Not a single one, EVER. These two dumbshits are fleecing the hell out of the job market & we Steeler fans. Apparently Rooney, Kahn, Weidel & Tomlin are ok with their ineptitude. Someone needs to tell them DEI (give em a friendly opportunity) mantra id dead. Only the most experienced, best & brightest with the best resumes should be considered & hired.

FUCKING look at their resumes. Neither has ever coached up A SINGLE tight end or running back. Why continue to hope it will happen in the future or that they may luck in to a talented enough player that doesn't need coaching.

These two need to go next. Should of been gone already. Fucking mgmt, needs to manage.

Both are good guys and have PA roots. Chill out.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 82 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

Tecmo Super Bowl back in the day had a feature (this will show age) where you could select your own Pro Bowl teams, and a fun option was always selecting the crappiest players with the dumbest sounding names and playing the Loser Bowl.

Alfredo Roberts caught a lot of passes (and dropped a lot more) from Babe Laufenberg in those games.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Also, still under contract; we'll re-evaluate once the contract expires.

I'll go a bit further and challenge anyone to point out a player that has gotten better from rookie to sophomore year in say the past 5 years?
Maybe Highsmith, but look at JPJ, Benton, B Jones...all have underperformed based on their rookie years.

Honest question, after Rooney and Fraudlin are gone, is there literally anyone on this staff that should stay? Not will stay, SHOULD stay?

I seriously wonder.

Te coach= terrible results
RB coach= terrible results
DB coach= I know we just signed a retread coach
OL coach= terrible results(prob using injuries as an excuse)
DL coach= lacking talent AND terrible results

Literally who is being coached up? Improving?

I feel like we are doomed until any real ownership & coaching changes. This organization is a clown show currently.

These coaches are literally all Tomlin lackeys. Picked by him and he's proven that his picks of coaches have been below the line.
Should chop them all if Tomlin ever goes away, including the waterboy

Agreed.

There are more coaches etc that should be cut, I just got frustrated typing them out and stopped.

Rooney and Fraudlin have sucked my passion for this organization right out of me.

I didn’t really know either of these jumblokes, so I looked them up. On one fansite, in Roberts’ bio he is given credit for coaching up the following Tight Ends during his pro career:

Dwayne Allen
Melvin Gordon III
Hunter Henry
Jack Doyle
Coby Fleener
Pat Freiermuth

Faulkner’s bio doesn’t even have that kind of list, but it does note that he worked with Matt Canada at NC State and that even though the Steelers finished last in “yards per game” and “yards per rushing attempt” in 2020 and his contract was up, they gave him an extension. WTF

At times the special teams has done well.

Think they rank low in some areas, maybe returns or coverage. Too lazy to look it up right now.

Boz has been excellent.
