The Pittsburgh Steelers are lacking talent at key places. But. I think the worst things you can do when you're regrouping are:

A. reach for players at obvious positions of need

and

B. Moving on to drafting speed & skill players or QB before the meat and potatoes picks that get no one excited on draft day but which build you team from inside-out.

i probably could have and should have just stayed put and picked a great prospect at another position of need but instead opted for an extra pick and knew I'd still get an awesome player.

This player shouldn't have fallen to here. He's arguably the best prospect in his class at his position group. He's a ridiculous athlete, has some of the most polished technique you'll ever see in a CFB player, played the top level of competition, and dominated them. There were some crumbs of discontent because of his reported size, but then at the combine he showed up bigger than expected to silence his critics.
