SF Board Draft 2025 Comments & Rules

WELCOME TO THE 23st (at least) ANNUAL BEST DAY ON THE SITE!

We will have a soft start (no clock) on Sunday afternoon, March 16th.. The clock will start 8am Eastern on Monday morning, March 17th.

Image

The clock will be a little shorter again this year: 90min max for rounds 1-3, 1 hour for 4-7.
We've been 90% picking in 30 min or less the last few years, and it's only been a few outlier picks that held things up. If you miss your turn, you'll be skipped just like the real draft; you may pick any available player as soon as you are able to pick. The clock will run from 8AM-10pm Eastern, although special consideration given for west coasters in the AM. Picks can be made at any time.

DRAFT PICKS ORDER and OFFICIAL PICKS:
https://forumsnew.sportsandshit.com/vie ... =2&t=24227

AVAILABLE PLAYERS LIST (not comprehensive and sometimes slow to update), just to help keep track):
https://forumsnew.sportsandshit.com/vie ... =4&t=24222

***IMPORTANT NOTE***
Not all eligible players are listed and no guarantee all players listed are eligible, although pretty likely they are available if they made it to this list. It should be 99.9% correct, I will eliminate any prospect on the list that I know is not in the draft/returned to school. If you are in doubt, let me know and I will give you a ruling.

Pick only on the other thread makeed "PICKS ONLY". Announce any trades at the beginning of your pick selection post, if I haven't already done it for you.. If you are up for including a description, scouting report, photo, GIF, or video for your selection, go for it. If not, that's okay, too. I may add a photo for you if I have a good one.

This thread is perfect for questions, comments, corrections, and complaints, but I will also set up a site chat: A dedicated chat here on the site for talking amongst ourselves, trade notices, comments, etc. Access the chat at the bottom of the menu bar/white bars at the top on desktop or via the white bars button in the menu on mobile.

This thread and the chat room (see below) are great for questions or trade offers or comments. As always, I am happy to facilitate trade offers/negotiation or I can share text numbers between parties if you're so inclined. I'll be honest: even the craziest among us (you know who you are) are people I text with all year long, so I think we've more or less eliminated people you'd rather not have your number. Besides, I guess you can block them if it goes south. Anyway, that's for everyone to decide on their own.

This year we’ll have a dedicated chat for the draft comments, trade talk, etc.
Check it out here or in the menu in upper right:

https://forumsnew.sportsandshit.com/app.php/chat

FOR PICKS ONLY, please use THIS THREAD:
https://forumsnew.sportsandshit.com/vie ... =2&t=24227

THIS google drive spreadsheet HAS THE PICKS, PROSPECTS SELECTED, PROSPECTS AVAILABLE, PICKS BY TEAM< PICKS BY POSITION AND MORE. It may not be as up-to-date as the thread but I will try to keep it going. If anyone else would like to have the power to update it and has the time to do so, please let me know and I will give you editing permissions:
COMING SOON[/b]

RULES:
Trading picks and SIGNED PLAYERS UNDER CONTRACT is allowed, but no future year picks, please. Please run the trades by me or SteelPerch if there's any doubt about their legality or fairness. I reserve the right to veto if there's a problem, especially when trading players. Be realistic enough and there will be no problems.

That said, I can also help facilitate a trade via texts or twitter for anyone who's hard to reach. At this point I have texts for 28 of you, I think, and twitter only for 2. Everyone is registered here so easy enough to contact each other, even for you non-social media Luddites. Try to get your trades roughed out before you're on the clock, because the receiving team doesn't get a fresh clock when the trade is made.

You can also send me a list of picks before your turn and I will use it to select for you. In fact, you can even send me lists with complicated instructions like : "if both these SS are gone, then pick this guy, unless the Browns pick a LB, in which case select the EDGE rusher first." You may laugh, but I have gotten more or less this instruction before.

Also note: I try not to see your listed players before I have to go to the list. I won't open your DM or scroll down your text if I get the gist you'll be listing players. I don't like to know before I pick, so I won't intentionally or unintentionally select your player and face your wrath. For that reason, if you have a question that's not a "picks list", be sure to use a subject line in DMs that doesn't say "my list".

I'm going to try and list the picks in a thread on twitter, so if you have a twitter handle, then please pass it on to me so I can tag you in the thread.

Any new real-life trades will be added if it seems appropriate. Trades that happen IRL after we start the draft will only be included if:
A. the picks haven't already been traded or used in this board draft AND
B. both parties involved agree

Cheers and good drafting to all!

The Pats Will take offers for the #4 pick. It can be conditional if you are targeting a player. Not there then no trade.

Jebrick, your Pats took a familiar approach to free agency

In Belichickian fashion, they didn't do anything to help their potential franchise QB, Drake Maye (Despite most $ to spend)

New coach Mike Vrabel was VISIBLY upset draft night way back when the Titans traded AJ Brown to Genius GM Howie Roseman.

AJ Brown in turn seen reading Inner Excellence on the sideline during Eagles games, a not so subtle hint he's not happy with the Eagles QB or offense.

My suggestion (Kinda bored watching college hoops)

Get with Ice and make a blockbuster deal involving Vrabel's boy AJ to kickoff the 2025 SteelerFury Board Mock.

Listen, I'm approaching this year's draft with an open mind toward trading even some good players in an effort to be better in the future for our someday QB.

I think George Pickens is going to be traded IRL, so would really like to make that happen here. I love the player but I think he needs and deserves a change of scenery before he goes completely AB.

I'm also eagerly seeking to move Roman Wilson. I continue to think he's a poor fit in Pittsburgh IRL and he could be special somewhere else.

Will listen to offers for almost anyone else... Freiermuth? Highsmith? Patrick Queen? Make an offer.

Colts entire roster is available

I will make very friendly trades if the trade is completed BEFORE the draft as well as after the draft starts but with a trade deeper in the draft

Also will look favorably on multi pick offerings

They have done the classic mistake of drafting their franchise QB with no talent on their team. I think that is 2nd to starting a land war in Asia in the mistake lists. I expect Maye to have an Andrew Luck-like career in the sacks.

Carolina is motivated to fix its last ranked run defense, and thinks it's well on its way to that goal within the next year or two by selecting Grant. His athleticism provides a significant pass rush bonus upside.

Anyone looking to move up, text or message me. Looking like both DEN & PIT will want to move down. Might even be reasonable terms.

Membou would be nice insurance for Pittsburgh in the event that Broderick Jones or Troy Fatanu don't pan out, not to mention he could be an upgrade over Seumalo.

Could be a dominant run blocking line with Jones, Membou, Frazier, McCormick, Fatanu.

I think he is a OG or a RT. A bit short for OT but we will see. One of the best run blockers in the draft.

Compare to Rashawn Slater.

At first blush not a fan of the pick

However

I do still believe a bully ball run game could work

For all the propaganda coming from the Steelers brass over the years they’ve never really come close to making a commitment to the players and roster makeup you need to make it work

Dominate run blockers would be a good first step

Membou at RT?

Sliding Fautanu into OG?

So…..Jones, Fautanu/Seumalo, Frazier, McCormick, Membou?

OR

Jones, Seumalo, Frazier, McCormick/Membou, Fautanu?

I think I like Fautanu best at LT. The entire reason for moving Broderick was that he thinks he's better at LT, not that he's better than Fautanu is there. It just recreates the same situation, this time with Fautanu.

Semualo is gone after this year... his play really dropped off last year, I thought.

Ideally, it'd be Fautanu-Broderick-Frazier-McCormick-Membou or Fautanu-Membou-Frazier-McCormick-Jones.

And if I can move Broderick Jones for a different asset, like a DL... all the better.

Perch can booo all he wants, but as I said to him... did we not complain for years that they reach for need instead of picking BPA? This is what BPA looks and feels like. Membou should have gone top 15, he fell to 23, and he obviously makes the team better.
