As much as I don’t wanna have as severe a view as Perch, it’s hard not to
Imo it comes down to two things
- Either you be a contrarian and you build a brutal ground and pound offense which has been the Steelers goal for well over a decade and they haven’t ever even come close to doing that. Therefore it’s reasonable to conclude they can’t
- Or you build a modern offense which the Steelers seem forever philosophically opposed to in addition to lacking the ability to

The Steelers brought Derrick Harmon in for a top-30 visit, BTB. Also enjoyed your discussion with Perch.

Yes, he's really the only Rd1 DT they have brought in... but of course there are meetings at the combine and pro days for other guys. I like the peaks of Derrick Harmon but I'm lukewarm on him the more I dig into him. He had some issues defeating big/powerful guards and the splash plays are only slightly above average--to me the elite 1st round guys do more than that.Who Dee Knee wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 4:50 amThe Steelers brought Derrick Harmon in for a top-30 visit, BTB. For comparison, here are some career FBS collegiate Splash Plays per game from other DTs:
Stephon Tuitt: 1.64285714286
Larry Ogunjobi: 1.52083333333
Walter Nolen: 1.21428571429
Cameron Heyward: 1.16346153846
Elijah Roberts: 1.127659574
Deone Walker: 1.108108108
Tyleik Williams: 1.009803922
Jamaree Caldwell: 0.897058823529
Jared Harrison-Hunte: 0.8660714286
Derrick Harmon: 0.8452380952
TJ Sanders: 0.8452380952
Joshua Farmer: 0.833333333333
Mason Graham: 0.794871794872
CJ West: 0.769230769231
Keeanu Benton: 0.733333333333
Kenneth Grant: 0.7195121951
Alfred Collins: 0.625
Darius Alexander: 0.586206896552
Sure, you can filter this list a little for LOC (Ogunjobi) and for players like the Oregon/Michigan guys who played on a line of top 100 picks... but you can see some "types" reflected in this stacking. There are a couple on here who enjoyed big 2024 seasons but who were late breakouts, so there 2024 splash plays were higher (Alexander), so take that FWIW.
I now have less hope for the 2025 Steelers than I do for season two of The Last of Us, but I agree on a lot of it, and was definitely entertained!
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Just finished, great listen guys.
the first option is a point that gets overlooked by media and many fans. the steelers say they are an old school ground and pound tough team - but they are not …. not even closer … and have not been for a long time. so they have failed miserably in their stated goalSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 3:22 amAs much as I don’t wanna have as severe a view as Perch, it’s hard not to
