How to stop Chase from catching 20 passes?
Does anyone know if it can be done?
Maybe we can ask the longest tenured, HOF-caliber coach who used to be a defensive back and DB coach if he has any ideas?

Well you can have the leader of your offensive line get called for a hold and then botch the snap on the tush push on the same drive, so that the defense goes right back on the field to continue practicing getting Chase into Canton in one night. That was clearly the plan.TimmayLake wrote: ↑Fri Oct 17, 2025 12:03 pmDoes anyone know if it can be done?

It looked to me like they were absolutely terrified of Chase getting over the top that they allowed him 924 10 yard outs and slants instead. Pitch and catch all night. Flacco barely had to work hard, it was like 7 on 7 in practice.
This defense is going to be LEG-EN....DARY. Just wait for it

Dumb and dumber (Tomlin and Austin) had no clue and took the easy way out last night doing nothing. they called a pathetic game that got their D destroyed! If it were me, I would have put my best CB on Higgins (Ramsey). Then I would have put Slay or JPJ on Chase with a Safety right near bracketing him all night I would jam those guys all night to allow the pass rush to get after Flacco. All of this would have been out of the base set with 3 down lineman to stop the run game as well. Boy, I wonder if our illustrious coaches watched any tape at all on how the 4 teams that beat Cinci did it! Those two down lineman sets also smoked this D in the run game. They ran it right up the Steelers arses when they say that Defensive set! Cinci has one of the top 5 worst offensive lines and our coaches made them look like a bunch of future HOFers.
i agree - at the end of the first half they seemed pre-occupied with that and were giving chase the outside 10 yard pass

I said similarly in another thread. Higgins and Ramsey check. I would have put Porter on Chase at the LOS and I would have put another corner on him too and sandwiched the hell out of him. As a matter of fact they should have taken one of their special team punt return guys who practice just such a thing on the gunners. Sure maybe you don’t think of this in the 1st half, but holy hell I‘d have done it to start the second half. Then you could corner blitz from this as well, especially when they start running Chase in motion to counter.alancac98 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 17, 2025 3:33 pmDumb and dumber (Tomlin and Austin) had no clue and took the easy way out last night doing nothing. they called a pathetic game that got their D destroyed! Zero imagination!
