Tomlin's camp most likely leaked contract details

Post by CKSteeler » Tue Dec 09, 2025 4:42 pm

“First of all, that’s coming from Mike Tomlin’s agent because it’s not coming from the Steelers because they don’t discuss anything that’s going to happen after the season, during the season. So from that end, I know where that’s coming from,” Dulac said Tuesday. “The stuff about the option, I mean, I’m not going to sit here and dispute it because I know this, a couple contract extensions ago, they gave Mike Tomlin, it was a one-year extension with a one-year option. And ever since then I just assumed, and maybe even before that, there was always an option clause in his contract.”

So before a critical game to help preserve NHALS, Tomlin and his agent decide to leak that he's not really signed past 2026 and would be a lame duck if the option wasn't picked up.

Dulac refuses to speculate as to why. Yup, it's a real mystery. And then every reporter who got that story leaked to them was fed the same bullshit line about how Tomlin will only go when he wants to go.

Tomlin pulled similar shit in the past leaking to his boy Glazer towards the end of the season when people started questioning his greatness.

Also of note - Mediocre Mike supposedly tunes out all that outside noise and just focuses on wining the AFC Norf this week.

Proceeds to have his agent leak contract details to gin up drama. Has done the same thing multiple times.

Remember when the Steelers were supposedly annoyed when Russell Wilson's camp leaked shit about Arthur Smith when shit started going south and into the off-season? Wonder if Tomlin was part of that. Regardless, we know the Rooney's will turn a blindeye to Mediocre Mike playing the media game. The POSSIBLE alternative - a losing season - is far too daunting for them to consider.

Of course he did. He played this all nicely.

This might explain why the team played better. I do wonder if the manipulation level is like that.

That last drive was certainly curious. Like he was daring Lamar or something.

I don't think he wants to win super bowls, I think he wants to quit the season as early as possible.
"We, as an offensive collective were off today, and certainly, he's a component of that,"

Tomlin PC 1/14/25 -“‘Stuck’ is a helpless feeling. I don’t feel helpless,” Tomlin said. “I don’t know if I want to sell you an overly optimistic (tone) either.
