Steelers could void DK $45M

Post by Texas Black & Gold » Tue Dec 23, 2025 1:04 pm

DK's action is even worse than just a 2 game suspension for him.

What is it that causes WRs in Pittsburgh to go off the rails?
Plaxico shots himself in a night club.

I don't think the Steelers entertain this move. It's sure to piss off the player.

Maybe not but DK's action didn't exactly make the Steelers jump for joy or happy. He has a deep hole to dig out of IMHO.

To be fair, Plax shot himself while on the Giants. I don't remember a ton of drama when he was here.

You did forget Martavis Bryant, however.

Metcalf took a swipe at the guy, but it was hardly a Ron Artest-like, Malace at the Palace effort.

He should not have played into his matrix, but that's not a $45m jab. That's an insult to every Money Mayweather fight that ever existed.

Do they spike Steeler WR Gatorade with meth? Every fucking single Steeler WR seems to have problems with sanity/anger management/judgment or anything related to dopamine regulation.

But the fan clearly baited him and got what he wanted.

Can’t forget Claypool, but he allowed for them to fleece the Bears franchise so that’s a wash.

There have been quite the cast of characters to be accurate.

All from the fraudlin era.
Antonio Brown
Diontae Johnson
Ju Ju Smith Schuster
Mike Wallace
James Washington
Markus Wheaton
Limas Sweed
Sammie Coates
Emmanuel Sanders

Of the listed above have to say Brown nuttier than a fruit cake and Sanders had the better careers of any.

As mentioned on the podcast, Roman Wilson was WR7, playing behind
DK Metcalf
Theilen
Calvin Austin
MVS
Skowronek
Scottie Miller
and even the KR Ke'Shawn Williams

He's still WR5, so will he play snaps on offense in a meaningful game? Who knows.

Wasn’t CAIII injured?

Wilson should see some snaps One would think.

Miller got the bump for ST’s availability and certainly played a huge role offensively in Detroit.

We can argue Miller made a bigger impact than any other Receiver on the roster not named Gainwell.

All that said, I thinking Wilson has one last opportunity to make an impact with Metcalf likely out.

I really hope Wilson uses his opportunity to make the discussion about how he can contribute more.

DK hasn't come off the rails with the Steelers so much as he was a known hothead who did something hotheaded. Steelers brought him on board knowing he doesn't always control himself in heated situations.

He got 2 games here because as I pointed out in the game thread, he is the moron who went well out of his way to walk up to the fan. Regardless of what the fan said, it's pretty black and white based on the rules with regards to players that you don't willingly and for no other purpose walk up to the stands and start a physical confrontation with them.

It's painfully obvious to everyone the fan was a jackass looking to antagonize even if we aren't sure exactly what he said or did to bring it about. But none of that changes the fact that the NFL can't have players literally walk up to the stands to engage in this.

None of the cases people were bringing up in the other thread about this were even comparable.

I'm now changing my mind in that i think they gave him two games because they will bargain it down to one on appeal.

And one is what they wanted to give him.

We shall see.

They may do that. They sometimes do do that. At least one reporter is saying they aren't gonna in this case, but we'll see.

But he's still getting a suspension of some kind no matter what. It's not going away.

They should absolutely void the $45mm. This was 100% on DK and solely his own fault. He knew about the conditions to get the $45mm and he chose to go engage with a fan.

As I said in another thread, this is FAR WORSE than anything that Pickens every did in the black and gold and that got him traded.

By the way, Pickens made the Pro Bowl and is leading the NFL in receiving this year...

I don't think the Steelers actually make a choice with the void here. The language in the contract is that if he's suspended, the guarantees automatically void. There's no real discretion there for them.

Agreed. The Steelers should look at this as a gift. He’s a head case and he has zero impulse-control. If he can be baited that easily by a fan, that’s on him. He needs to grow up. Let him do it on another team. Mike Tomlin, that leader of men, can’t control anyone.

Imagine if this was Pickens… the hate he would be getting would be off the rails. And rightly so. I don’t understand anyone defending DK. It was stupid and inexcusable. He should have never been over near the stands during the game, interacting with a fan. How is that supposed to turn out? Does DK (or anyone else) go to the stands during game play to sign autographs or take selfies?

Outside of TD celebrations, I can’t recall any player/fan interaction, especially behind the players bench, during the game. I’ve been to a number of games and can’t remember a time a player walked over to the crowd behind the bench like that.
