Dan Snyder Wants Tomlin as HC

Post by BethlehemSteel » Mon Oct 07, 2019 3:10 pm

ha ha ha....let's fire him today.

ESPN's Ed Werder disclosed that he had a conversation recently with "someone who knows [owner] Dan Snyder well and is aware of his thoughts" on who could replace Gruden. The names Werder relayed were Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Why fire him? This is Just the type of incompetent football organization that can help us dig out of this mess. Snyder is the type of fool that would trade a draft pick for an over-rated head coach that keeps living off a reputation of having a championship on his resume.

How many draft picks do we have to give them to take him off our hands?

And his team could easily go 0-16 the way they are trending...

Part of me would love to see this happen.

The other part would view trading Tomlin to Washington for picks as completely disrespectful to Tomlin and definitely not something the Rooney's will do. Would that hurt us in attracting another coach knowing that Tomlin has been relatively successful here and was traded midseason? I'm not a Tomlin fan by any means, but that would be terrible optics all around.

With that said, I'm not entirely against it considering I want Tomlin gone at year end anyway.

I’d take a 3rd & 5th right now if they promised to take him off our hands by this weekend.

It's a business.

I don't think firing McCarthy made GB any less attractive to new coaches. You've got a HOF QB with two years left, a defense that may finally be coming together, and a couple of promising QB's in the wings.

There a quite a few posters here who brag about beginning to hate Tomlin in the middle of Super Bowl run. There are quite a few who loudly talk about how long theyve despised Tomlin in spite of several playoff appearances.

To those posters I say go fuck yourself. Most of you dont know shit about football the nfl or the Steelers.

There are some here who have some legit points. Tomlin isnt perfect.

If you are unable to have a good amount of hope after the ravens game yesterday its likely I think you are dumbass and generally dont have a clue about football ....the nfl.....the Steelers.....or life.

The man is now in his THIRTEENTH season as HC and still hasn’t figured out how to manage the clock.

Someone that pretends to be as knowledgeable as yourself should see this.

But then, being such a blind homer of Jibba likely means you are as clueless as aviators is.

An agenda. Got it. Would love to hear just what that agenda is.

Unless of course by “agenda” you mean the growing frustration with the man that keeps repeating the same mistakes and delivering the same lackluster results. If that is what you mean then yes, I have an agenda.

End of thread, folks.

Tomlin has never had a losing season. No way in hell is Art firing him after his first. Not happening. Stop dreaming. Settle into the actual reality in which we find ourselves as Steeler fans.

Tomlin can pack his fucking bags. His coaching is stale. It's time to reinvent the wheel, friend.

You're right, "Tomlin isn't perfect." In actuality, he's probably a very good man, a loving husband and an excellent father to his kids. He's also a "player's coach" and a lousy game manager, not a good judgement of talent, bad decision maker on and off the field (e.g., which players he keeps, signs, releases). And he's awful at game planning and play calling. I'm sure I'm missing some items but you get the point.

Mike Tomlin is not helping this team. In fact, I'll say he's hurting this team with his coaching and leadership.

Related point: When do you see the Steelers players fired up? Except for posing after making a nice play, when is this team emotionally charged up? I don't see it but I do see it on many other teams. There's a lot missing from this team and the buck stops with Tomlin (and after him, Colbert and the Rooneys).

If the Steelers can get draft picks for him AFTER the season I would be a very happy fan!

Exactly

His time is up with the Steelers. Just like Charles Noll's time was up and it was best he got on with his life's work.

If the current owner has issues in his head over perception around the man's color over his recent off the cliff performance, then he's simply a fool.

we're 3-8 the past 11 right? or is it 3-9 in 12?

Trade him for Nick Backstrom. Just kidding but you get it if you are a Pens fan.

Honestly, it would be great but no way EMR is going to pull this off. He probably looked at the story and shook his head no. Tomlin already has a pass this year because Ben is out. EMR probably is looking at what has happened the past few loses(close games) and thinks Tomlin is doing a great job.

Tomlin is from the Virginia area. His son is playing at Maryland. Snyder has a lot of money and tries to get what he wants. Let's say he contacts Tomlin's agent and offers Tomlin the highest paying contract for a head coach in the NFL. Tomlin tells the Steelers he would not object if they try to make the trade. Snyder will give the Steelers the Washington number 1 picks in 2020 and 2021. We make the trade effective immediately. Teryl Austin is named interim head coach.

At least we wouldn't have to read 7000 posts more posts about how stupid Tomlin is. I am scared to think about who Rooney would hire as head coach. He is not his dad.
