Only one Steelers win came against a playoff team. Any team with less?

Post by RealSwiss » Mon Jan 05, 2026 2:32 pm

It was in a thread here. The Steelers only beat one team that made the playoffs this year. Patriots. And that required some absurd turnover imbalance.

Even the Raiders and Browns have beaten at least one playoff team. Is there any other playoff team with less quality wins?

The Patriots also only beat one playoff team.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

0-5 vs playoff teams with a margin of defeat around 12 points per game. The one win took a miracle of turnovers and was early in the season before Maye and the Pats got rolling.

If that’s not encouraging enough, we all know Tomlin teams are much worse in the playoffs than regular season.

If we would have beaten green bay, they wouldn’t have been in the postseason. If we would have lost any of three games vs. detroit or baltimore, those teams would be in the playoffs.

If only we had lost one of our ravens games, we would have two wins against playoff teams instead of one? That would make us better?

I would just encourage you to pop in a tape of the Chargers, Bills, Seahawks, or Packers games and see how badly outmatched we were. Steelers won the worst division in the AFC when the two best QBs in the division each missed large stretches of the season, And even then, they only won it on an opponents missed FG. Only Mike Tomlin would pound his chest and blow kisses for that.

I find, often, that when a team wins another game they make the playoffs and don't when they lose that game.

It's sort of like those teams didn't make the playoffs because they aren't good teams. Same as PIT, except Mediocre Mike has a gigantic sideways horseshoe in his ass.

Now do vs. teams with winning records and you can add Minn and Det. while the Colts were pretty good when they had Jones. Plus the Ravens twice who really won the first game with the Steelers.

So beating Det was much more impressive than hypothetically beating Carolina or decimated Green Bay.

Trying to be fair here because making playoffs is not necessarily a mark of excellence especially depending on injury situations.

Making the playoffs isn't a sign of excellence. Half the league does so and somehow the Steelers manage to be the easiest out in the field every single god damn year.
