Smith has been excellent considering the QB carousel + young OL + skill unit deficiencies + HC straight jacket.
I shudder to think about which retread, homeboy or bootlicker Tomlin would bring in if Smith were to leave.

Will be hard to find a coordinator who can top a tush push on 4th and almost 2 and a deep sideline pattern to Scotty Miller on 4th and short as well
Very hard

Very hard
Smith has sucked. We start games slower than a dead sloth. His constant personnel changes and tinkering suck as well. Good riddance.
Agree
Can we please hire someone innovative?
The streak of 2,590 games of no more than 7 offensive points in 1st qtr is embarrassing

How much will we have to pay the Titans to take him?
Flores and Smith possibly HCs... the Tomlin Coaching Tree?
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Please, please take him…
We’ll throw in fraudlin Teflon, TJ Watt, Heyward (both), Broderick Jones and Teryl Austin as consolation prizes.

Precisely this, Smith has been pedestrian at best, crazy how much better the offense looks in 2 min drill, and way too many personnel groupings, hard for players to get in any type of rhythm....I remember the P. Manning Colts, they basically ran the same formation with the same personnel like 90% of their plays (3 wide, 1 TE, 1 RB).
Dino Tomlin- OC
Arthur Smith will leave when he wants to.
Til then he has a job for life, so GET USED TO IT.
LOL. Does Art have any of his Dad's money? He has to. Maybe he's funneling some to Coach T for his wife's garbage slave labor "fashion".
For the growth component of it, which is something that keeps Coach T loving what he do.

Lots of late nights scripting out that innovative first series.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:40 pmOpening drive in a game for division:

I don't need to see Jonnu Smith in the backfield ever again. He has done OK but Warren and Gainwell are better runners.
I hoped for better with Smith. But the constant personnel shuffles, not getting his QB, main receivers or RBs into a rhythm before subbing, using Johnie in backfield etc is too much for me.
That and ignoring Muth all damn year despite not having a legit #2 was practically criminal.
Wouldn’t mind him leaving buuuuuuutttt,,
Has Jibba learned his lesson bout hiring the Matt Canada’s of the world? Magic 8 ball says not likely.
We be could do worse.
Hopefully if he leaves Jibba has learned that lesson.

Isn't this a good thing? Who actually wants Arthur Smith back next year?
good riddance ... hopefully
I think its clause 4.7(c)(iii) note 4 of the Rooney rule that you need to interview at least one seedy doofus for any open role

I'd take either. Innovative Offensive minds. As long as Jibba has no input on O

I would love to see McDaniel. He doesn't seem to be a yes-man.
Could Tomlin work with someone like him. Does he have any ties to Tomlin in any way.
I can't believe I'm hoping for the OC that would be the most probable candidate to piss off the head coach and not based on any qualifications.
I might have TDS, Tomlin Derangement Syndrome.

I see this as an opportunity to upgrade.
Likewise with our HC.

Any time you think about how the offense works, this numbskull uttered these words in Jan 2026.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

Mike McDaniel would be a welcome addition in my opinion, just guarantee him all the 8 balls he needs....I think he would be a huge upgrade
Half the GM's in pro sports are bad to mediocre. They get those jobs for all kinds of reasons.
If you want to be elite, you are only competing with half the field. The rest beat themselves.
Throw. The. Football. On. First. Down.
this is 100% correct -- same for HCsHavoc wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 12:54 pm

As you said, many teams will beat themselves if you let them.
