So, what records does Tomlin hold, both good and bad!

So, we know he holds NHALS, but I cannot for the life remember all of the poor performances and the shocking new records that his team has set (in a bad way)! It seems over the past few years that records fell to Tomlin in an embarrassing fashion. Can anyone remember all those piss poor moments that put our beloved Steelers into the record books of disgrace?

19 seasons and absolutely no coaching tree has to be a record.

I was listening to Florio and Chris Sims this morning doing mental gymnastics as to why Tomlin has no coaching tree. They claim it was because he wanted to hire older coordinators so the they didnt have to deal with young ambitious coordinators getting hired away every other year! And they looked for guys that were content and happy to stay. What a bunch of BULLSHIT!

Assuming that were true it'd be the dumbest strategy of coach hiring you can take. You limit yourself to the castoffs that have failed and nobody wants. Which is exactly what we got but not for the reason they gave.

The real reason we didn't hire competent assistants is because Tomlin wanted full control and then the ability to scapegoat when things went sideways.

The one competent coach we've had since arguably Haley was Flores and he was a one year guy.

I'm so glad the hostage situation is over. I've been so down on the Steelers for 5-6 years and I finally feel rejuvenated.

And it's not particularly close.

Longest active playoff losing streak
First Steelers HC with 9 straight season without a playoff win
First team to lose 5 straight playoff games by double digits

I know there are many small records that the Steelers unfortunately achieved under Tomlin over the last 5 years, but I can't find anything on them. Any thoughts?

Won playoff games in less than 1/4 of his seasons.

That has to be a record for any coach with 8+ years, well aside from Marvin Lewis.

The losing stream to teams 8 games under .500 is also noteworthy

That’s a fun one.

As is this one…
First team to lose 5 straight playoff games by double digits

There was something like that mentioned as a record....

Back to back losses at home to teams, 8 games under. Arizona and NE in 2023. Supposedly never happened before.
