Reminder: Steelers were curbstomped by a turnover machine

Post by TimmayLake » Mon Jan 19, 2026 12:27 am

Stroud has 4 picks including a pick six today. He had approximately 8 turnovers against the Steelers and they still won by 4 scores.

Just a reminder how bad that WC performance was. Perhaps worse than losing to Tim Freakin Tebow.

Mike Tomlin no longer coaches the Steelers

Was all over the news last week

What’s your point?

Uh No. Losing to Tebow & Bortles was worse.

And Garrard.

I appreciate the use of the verb "curbstomp".

I had a high opinion of DeMeco but staying with Stroud failure was very Tomlin.

If you’re talking about the playoff loss, that was Baker. Of course you can make the argument that he was a ham and egger at that point. lol

Probably Demeco Ryan’s’ call with Tomlin after yesterday’s game:

Tomlin: “MmmHmm…right….mmmmhmm…right….mmmmhmm…exactly….mmmhhmm…stop eight there. All you need to do is put in my 7 step risk aversion plan for your offense and QB. I call it Offensive Jail Hell…OJH for short!”

“Step1: Middle of the field is out! You know Chernobyl over in Ukraine? Think Pripyat exclusion zone! That is now the middle of the field! Don’t even think about throwing there. It is off limits!

Step 2: TEs only receive passes on the edge of the exclusion zone! Living on the edge….just like Aerosmith!

Step 3: WR screens….they think you’re balanced in the passing game, but really you are just running it with smurfs.

Step 4: All long passes are either the long diagonal of a 7, 10, or 15 yard out, and they must be outside the numbers! The Outsiders baby! Was my favorite book growing up…Greasers versus the socs! Lot of future stars when they made that into a movie!

Step 5; All go routes are outside the numbers.

Step 6: put on a shock collar during practice and if your QB throws an INT, to the middle of the field, or to an in route, hit that shock button for 10 seconds.

Step 7: run, run, run and jet sweeps! And i really like the rush push without the QB!”

“Yes sir-re Bob….that is how you fix CJ Stroud! OJH baby!”

The irony of it is the Mayfield was starting to to turn into a decent QB when they jettisoned him. I believe he was the only QB to win more games than Ben in Cleveland since they reconstituted the Browns and still the only "new Browns" QB to win a playoffgame.

Instead of trying to build him.up and build around him, they traded away 6 picks, including 3 firsts for a guy who hadn't played in a year and was likely to be suspended plus they gave him $230M guaranteed. Even crazier, they just fired their 2 time coach of the year but kept the architect of the Watson trade that set them back several years.

That whole saga is once again, the Browns being the Browns.
