What will the defense look like under McCarthy

Post by StillerDownSouth » Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:54 pm

McCarthy's Green Bay teams ran a 3-4 when Capers was his DC, then transitioned to more of a 4-3 front later, in Dallas he was primarily 4-3 front, then went to more of a hybrid front that could go 3-4 or 4-3, the research I've done seems he tries to adapt his defense to the players he has versus trying to make the players fit his scheme....guessing it really all depends who he brings in as DC, name I've heard a bunch is Bears DB coach Al Harris, who played for McCarthy in Green Bay.

This, of course, is the correct answer!

Dallas. We’re the new Cowboys. Mediocre all around, never win in the playoffs. Former great franchise is now a laughing stock. A punchline in cleats.

Well it won't involve Loudermilk and Leal which Tomlin stuck with for years.
