The cueto game was fun.

Last game at pitt stadium i guess?

Been a rough past 10 years for pittsburgh sports, definitely no way to compete with your list.

The cock fight between STD and a guy named Booger in the bathroom of a 7/11 in Larimer at 3 AM on Christmas Eve last year. It was the stuff of nightmares and legends. It's why they used to right here be dragons on areas of the maps. Shit like that.

The winner yet to be determined, still waiting for more ballots to come in.

Some of my most memorable

2008 AFC Championship game, Polamalu’s pick was the loudest I’ve ever heard that stadium

1986 Penn State beats Pitt to go to the Fiesta Bowl and play for the National Championship. Fans stormed the field and tore down goal posts. I was a kid, we had front row seats and it was awesome.

1998 King of the Ring aka the Undertaker throws Mankind off the top of the cage.

2002 Steelers vs Falcons 34-34 tie where Burress had 253 yards.

I was in the house for Sidney Crosby’s 600th goal, when AB kicked the Browns punter in the face and James Harrison’s 2007 Monday night massacre against the Ravens as well.

Those are probably the best I’ll ever witness in person because I don’t care to go to live games much anymore.

2009

Yankees won Game 6 and the World Series over the Phillies.

Sat couple rows behind the RF wall looking down at Nick Swisher talking shit with the drunk Bronx crowd.

My one and only trip to NYC was epic.

But funny how I got there.

Buddy of mine down here in Suwanee is from upstate NY. Life long Yankees fan.

Told me like 6 months in advance he would be there on business and did I want to meet up since I always said I'd like get there just once.

He JOKED that maybe his Yankees would be there for a World Series Game or two.

Shit yeah they were and we went.

I still hear the chants of "Kaaate Hudson" ringing in my ear.

Sooooo fun.

Bo Jackson 3 HR game at Yankee Stadium. 1990.

Never got a chance for a 4th or 5th HR in this game...

Had a partial season ticket plan with my uncle back then.....34 game weekday and Friday nite plan.
Yanks were terrible the 3 or 4 years I had these tickets.

two of the greatest 2 sport stars in this game....Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders playing center field for the Yanks. They both played ceneter field this game.

Bo's deep HR to right as far as I may have seen one hit by a right hander in Yankee stadium.

https://youtu.be/V9HJhgKyM5Q?si=dco3XYHbckAQwlWh

Bo never giot a shot for a 4 HR game.
3 hrs in first 3 ABs thru 5 innings.
Would have batted again in the 7th......and again in the 9th?

Hurt his shoulder diving at a Deion Sanders line drive...Inside the park HR..bottom of 6th.
missed a month after this.

Crazy play at the plate.

also in those terrible Yankee years....

Paid $10 a ticket for 34 gamnes ..$340 for the plan
Thats 3 tickets for each of my Steeler games.

Watched two of those also ran Yankees, Dale Berra and Bobby Meacham both get tagged out at home plate with-in 2 seconds of one another by the great Carlton Fisk.

Gotta say....the response to Troy's pick 6 was close to that of the Immaculate Reception. Although with the IR, there was the initial flip out, followed by relative silence, followed by the next flip out when the ref trotted to midfield, faced the Steeler sideline, and signaled touchdown....whereupon the Fat Fuck John Madden was waving his fat arms, having a full blown tantrum on the Raiders sideline!!

I was also at that Championship game. It was nuts. Down in the river side EZ area before they closed it in. Absolute pandemonium!

I was also at the last TRS game against the Skins. Got on the big screen towards the end of the game. My Uncle Pete had second row seats, so I got to shake some hands. The ending was surreal, walking out of the stadium was bittersweet. Saw many many games there, had some great times.

Was right behind the Cubs batters box for a game against the Bucs, I think it went 22 innings. Rizzo could absolutely crush a baseball.

I don't remember what Pitt games my Dad took me to in the 70s, but there was one, must have been PSU, where we got down on the field.

Best:

- 2005 AFC Championship in Denver
- 2002 Wildcard comeback against the Browns
- 1983 NCAA BB championship between Houston and NC State

Worst:

- 2004 AFC Championship - that Ben pick six to end the 1st half was more of a buzz kill than my beer freezing over

Top 4 Steeler related

1) Super Bowl XL (JUBILATION! Also Attended awesome Super Bowl party with Snoop Dogg concert )

2) 1994 divisional playoff vs Cleveland (my dad and I got in the game with fake tickets…one of the best times ever with my dad)

3) 2002 Wild Card playoff vs Cleveland (with my dad, uncle and cousin)

4) 2011 AFCC vs Jets ( My AFCC game jinx is broken!)

Hopefully more to come…

Bottom 4 Steeler related

1. 1997 AFC Championship Game (complete despair…thoughts of never getting one for the thumb in my lifetime and spent all the money I had at the time on a ticket along with the ticket scalper taking a personal check from this drunk bimbo I was dating at the time for us to get in)

2. 2004 AFC Championship Game (despair more thoughts of never getting 1 for the thumb …so cold my beer froze…never in the game)

3. SBXLV (fuck Socrates Mendenhall with a plunger forever)

4. 2007 Playoffs vs Jacksonville (cold rainy sat next to 2 wildebeests wearing ponchos with one so fat she spilled over into my seat (not sitting in bleachers)….the origin story of my slow simmering hatred for Mike Tomlin)

Likely more to come…

How could I have forgotten the '94 divisional playoff vs. Cleveland....closest thing I ever had to a religious experience!! Hadn't been to a game in 6 years, hadn't been to a playoff game in 16 years. Highlight was yancey catching a TD pass right in front of me, and out comes the Terrible Towel.

As far as bottom experiences, the 4 AFCCGs I saw Steelers lose...72, 97, 01, 04...and the 96 fog bowl game in foxboro, my longest day as a sports fan....absolutely nothing to cheer for.

Oh, the 97 Kevin Henry immaculate interception OT win in foxboro was pretty fuckin special !!

Cal Ripken 2,131 and 2,132 games where he tied Gehrig and then broke the record the next night.

1993 - #9 WVU upset #4 Miami. Fun game in absolutely frigid conditions.

Ping pong Polly from Phuket hitting 7 red cups in a row without touching the rim during the 2 am floor show. Even now I'm unimpressed by Steph Curry's consecutive 35 ft 3 pointers.

I was surprised to see that this game did not make your list as I had read your previous posts about it. My dad grew up with the father of a bartender that worked at a bar called Donzi’s. The bartender knew the ticket takers in a certain section that used to sell fake tickets at a reduced price…you just had to go to their gate to get in. As far as seating went, you were on your own…. What a feeling just getting in the game! My dad and I were sitting in seats in the lower level end zone where the safety occurred for a period of time until forced to move around a bit and then come back to the same seats just in time for the safety. It was the 1st Steeler playoff game I ever attended. I’ll never forget the stadium shaking when Yancey caught that TD or when Carnell Lake sacked Testaverde for the safety. The trip was my birthday present ( I had turned 20 a few days earlier) I was hooked.

SB 43 in Tampa: I was in the corner where Santonio caught the TD. I spent all day trying to get a scalped ticket and finally found one. What a game.

I've been to a bunch of Steelers and Pirates games but nothing that compared to that. Been to the US Open at Bethpage Black and the PGA at Baltusrol but they were shitty tournaments.

I did go to the Steelers Vikings game in London back in 2013...we lost but it was cool to see all the Steeler fans in the UK.

Hey Ubaldo....yeah, i honestly spaced that one. Ive been to 18 Steeler playoff games, but several things made that memorable. It was the first playoff game I had attended since the 70s and by the conclusion of the 70s decade, even the playoff games were kind of routine, with the expectation that the Steelers were certain to win.

94 divisional playoff against the Browns was different… The atmosphere. During introductions the crowd chanting here we go Steelers here we go. The stands were a sea if terrible towels Princeton Buckner getting into a fight during intros. I remember the bathrooms at halftime people pissing in the sinks which I've never seen before. Like I said… Closest I ever had to a religious experience.

I missed a few games, memorable ones toowhich I had a ticket, due mostly to weather and flight delays. Among those would be 78ACCG 95ACCG the 10 0AFCCG, and the O2 comeback win against the Browns, where I was stuck in Prince Edward Island. In one, oh I was stuck at Logan airport with flight cancellations needed to catch a bus back to New Hampshire to make sure it didn't miss the game on TV.

In no particular order:

Went with my parents and my wonderful Aunt Hilda, one of the truly great Pittsburgh sports fans, to the Steelers' opening preseason night game of the '74 season against the Giants, which might not sound like much, but was in fact - - especially because the strike was on - - the first professional appearance of Swann, Stallworth and Jack Lambert!

Can't remember the exact dates, but spent much of my SoCal youth cheering on the Pirates at Dodger Stadium and thus got to see the Great One Roberto Clemente throwing out an LA base runner at home plate from deep in right field, as well as witnessing the great number 8 Willie Stargell blasting his home run over the pavilion roof and out of the stadium -- at the time, the only MLB player to ever achieve that feat.

In the house with my Dad and brothers at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, one week prior to the immaculate Reception in December 1972, to see the Steelers clinch their first division title ever -- especially sweet for Dad, having been a loyal season ticket holder and suffering through the long decades of drought before we moved west from Pittsburgh.

Also in the house, or I should say Rose Bowl, for Super Bowl 14 in January 1980, and got to watch Bradshaw hurl not one but two deep 4th quarter bombs, one for a TD, to a speeding John Stallworth as he sprinted -- seemingly only a few feet away through my binoculars -- towards our screaming group of Steeler fans in the south end zone.

By the way, rode my moped to the front of the Rose Bowl, locked it at the front gate, and bought my scalped SB XIV ticket for $10 in the parking lot as the national anthem began, even though there was fairly high demand for tickets given that the "hometown" Rams were the opposing team. Man how things have changed ....

A close second was watching my son qualify for the NYS Section IV Division II Championships, a state qualifier to go to states. He went 0-2 on the day but the weekend before watching him qualify was fantastic. He’s been on varsity for 5 years(high school starts at 7th grade here) and a few years ago he set a goal to win enough matches to get into that tournament. Watching him beat the kid in the fashion he did to share 5th and 6th place and qualify was one of the best dad moments of my life.

1976 John Candelaria No Hitter vs Dodgers

2001 - MlLB Indians staged the largest comeback in history from down 14-2 at the 7th inning stretch to winning 15-14 in 11 against the116 win Mariners. My dad was vision impaired and the seats we got were 2nd row right behind home plate by the radar gun. Earlier that day we visited the Football HOF... one of my top dad day memories.

2005 Steelers Bears in the snow. On a 3 game losing streak Bettis trucked Urlacher for a TD and had his final 100 yard game to start the 8-game run to the One for the Thumb. We were in row N behind the Bears bench and the snow was so heavy in the 3rd quarter was so heavy we could hear the players running after the snap before we could see them.

2008 Steelers Chargers - The game itself was fun but not necessarily remarkable however, this was the game where Troy had the amazing diving interception. We were upper deck EZ and Noone around us believed he caught it but I never had a doubt.

Top sorting events you've seen live:

Top 3

1.) August 12th, 2007 as Excel introduced the 1,048,576 row limit in the xlsx files, I gathered several large CSV files and appended them all, and put on the auto filter and hit the AZ sort button! It was a magical!

2.) Fort Hood mail room 1998! I asked to work the mail room and that enabled me to me to get BAS and not have to eat in the chow hall for the rest of my enlistment! First day I got all those envelopes and packages sorted in all those PO Boxes on the first floor of the barracks; it was glorious!

3.) 1984 was my first Tuesday for my new paper route for the Tribune Democrat! They had these stupid sections called the ERA for Westmont only, or was it Winber…you had to insert those into all 127 papers on my route, which included Sunday! It was a 6:00am sort from hell! But I got er done until my senior year in 1990.
