Terms are there

Steelers acquired WR Michael Pittman Jr. from the Colts for a late-round pick swap.
Aaron Rodgers’ new No. 2 receiver figures to fit in well in Mike McCarthy’s West Coast system. Because we’re expecting the Steelers to throw less in 2026 than the Colts did, Pittman Jr. probably profiles best as a WR4 going forward. It’s still a huge upgrade for the Steelers on a position where they were desperately trying to find bodies that Rodgers approved of towards the end of 2025. Adam Schefter reports the Steelers will sign Pittman Jr. to an extension as part of the trade.

Seeing that now, also Pittsburgh extended him, currently has 1 year left on deal.

Checks the "vet WR" box. Now I'm wondering if B2B might not be right about Metcalf's future with the team. Can't remember the Steelers ever paying high $ for two WRs simultaneously.

hes 28.
Not a top 10 WR.
Top 20?

I hope its not for more than a 2nd round pick?

Hes already listed on Spotrac as a Steelers.
Bas salary of $22 mil.

UFA aftger this year.

Late round pick swap according to NFL network, will likely also sign extension with Steelers.

Per Sheffter, Steelers are signing Pittman to a 3 year 59 million deal.

i like late round pick swap...........

Hoping the new extension is not stupit money.

Yeah...parting with DK may be the next step..........

Tho (2) 6'-4" guys.......
Add a top WR in the draft.....who is a polished route runner with speed to compliment the two big guys...,
Hope for a Roman Wilson prove it year playing in an NFL offense.......

And your 4 WRS look pretty decent 4 some

Better than last years crew for sure. I would still take one in the top 2 rounds.

3 years, 59 million isn't bad. I'm happier after hearing that.

This is a good trade. OFC how good depends on who is playing QB.

Pittman is the type of volume receiver that compliments DK really well.

PFF has him ranked 38th out of 81 WR’s

That’s worth 20 million a year?

Yuk.

Yep. Checked out his stats.
Averaging 80 catches over his 6 season career so far. Take away his 40 catch rookie season, and he’s averaging 93 catches the past 5 seasons.
In what world is that a number 4 receiver?!?

I think that is fantasy football talk as far as him being a #4 WR.

It’s an ok move. They didn’t give up any meaningful draft pick and I’m sure the contract is voidable after 2 seasons. Fair enough for a decent #2 WR right around his age 30 season.

Honestly with Gainwell leaving RB becomes a pretty significant need. There are some good free agents and a bunch on the draft. I bet we sign Dowdle.

I think that’s for fantasy football. In the Nfl he has been a well above average WR2.

I think it is a good get for the Steelers. They need exactly the type of WR that Pittman is. Now let Metcalf blow the doors off on deep routes and use Pittman as a possession WR.

And as a trade, does not count against the comp formula for next year.

Pittman is at least used to playing with shitty QB's

Michael Pittman's QBs in the NFL:

2021 Carson Wentz
2021 Jacob Eason
2022 Sam Ehlinger
2022 Nick Foles
2022 Matt Ryan
2023 Anthony Richardson
2023 Gardner Minshew
2024 Anthony Richardson
2024 Joe Flacco
2025 Daniel Jones
2025 Riley Leonard
2025 Philip Rivers

Does he make it to training camp or does he commit suicide the day before check-in at Latrobe?

Last two times we went up against Pittman, he put up 115 and 113 yards, some of those were really, really good catches. Solid receiver with excellent size and much better hands than DK. Not much to hate about this trade.

Now here's hoping our #1 spends some time with the juggs machine and meditation apps, and takes advantage of the additional freedom of having another WR on the field defenses actually kinda need to worry about.

So we can go back to one real WR?

No thanks

Cap went up so much and we don’t have a QB to pay and won’t for quite some time. I think that’s why they are willing to pay two WRs big money for the next couple years.
