With them adding Rico what does that say for thd chances for Johnson. Both him and Wilson look like major misses

Why let Gainwell leave for just 1.75 million more than they paid Rico is the real question. What does Rico do better than Gainwell team mvp?. That was a huge fuck up

my guess is its the other side of the equation -- Gainwell wanted to leave for whatever reason and he was able to leave

Dowdle has experience with the new coaching staff and is coming off back to back 1000 yard seasons. He’s more of a high volume runner than Gainwell who has been a #2 back his entire career.

Rico could step into that numerous one role if needed

Uncle Rico was a solid signing. Can catch the football, something Warren is not overly good at. I’d like a homerun hitter back there, but I’m just built different.
Anyway
The Steelers hole patching approach to free agency has long frustrated me, but I could at least take solace that they would redeem themselves come draft time.
Now?
Not so much.
I think the Steelers are severely lacking talent evaluators.
There have been many more than just "a pair" of 3rd round misses.
Alex Highsmith plays well when he’s not hurt.
Mt Washington is a (mythical) unicorn. I’m curious to see how McCarthy utilizes his unique talents.
But
Kendrick Green, DeMarvin Leal, Justin Layne, Roman Wilson, Kaleb Johnson outright BUSTS.
Horrific scouting and/or development
Then you have the Chuks, Dionte Johnson, and Payton Wilson picks who at least were penciled in as starters, but ultimately were deemed quite replaceable.
I’m soooo down on Weidl and K-H-A-N (he’s not a hotdog)
Every draft is important, but these two petterasses need to make some hay with those 12 picks or else they need to be get on with their life’s work.
