This has corresponded nicely with me having the flu.

Pens are back to .500 and have a big tilt with Jersey tomorrow.

I mean, this team is some serious fun right now. Top line is on fire, Sid and Geno playing like it's 2016. Even Jarry looks serviceable. The bottom of the roster forwards play hard... have some really shaky guys playing defense right now, but otherwise you can almost squint and see a playoff team.

Man, it's amazing how quickly Pittsburgh hockey fans disappear when the team isn't good (myself included), haha.

A few mediocre years and now hockey talk just feels completely non-existent. Even the Pirates might have more conversation going during their season than the Pens do right now.

I know the Steelers are overshadowing them right now with all their drama. But it doesn't feel like there's any sign it's going to pick up once the Steelers season is over Monday, either.

Almost feels like the Penguins have been zapped from the face of the earth, haha.

Not sure what's happened to fractal.....

Unfortunately, I'm at the point now where the kids' bedtime routine completely overlaps with Pens games. I'm usually only able to tune in the 3rd period, if that (I'm in the central time zone).

Having said that, we just planned a trip to take them to their first NHL game in April, so that should be fun.

In fairness, did anybody expect them to be even .500 at this point? Thet;ve done it inthe most maddening way possible, but they're .500 halfway through the season, despite shitty goaltending, nearly waivable play from Erik Karlsson, poor second line wingers, nothing from Ben O'Connor, and generally bad defensive play.
