Fuck the Pens. Fuck Mike Sullivan

Couldn’t even put it together for Lange at home against the Caps, huh? It was 2-2 about 6 minutes ago now it’s 6-2.

Fuck this team and here is to Sullivan coaching in Saskatoon next fall.

Went to beerfest at the Convention Center at noon then ended up at Roland’s for the second period. Bar was filled with Caps fans. They were pretty obnoxious. Although they also had every reason to be today.

Lobster rolls were still delicious, so no complaints from me.

Ther goaltenders liquified these last two games. The Pens today were stifling the Rangers and heavily outplaying them... then you give up a couple of softies and that's that.

Recall Jarry and make him suffer through this and send JB back to Wilkes-Barre while he still has enough confidence to someday be a solid NHL starter. I have started looking at this site https://www.tankathon.com/nhl intensely.

Fuck Pittsburgh sports period. The closest thing we have to a champion is Pitt womens' volleyball.

It had gotten pretty Bylsma-esque at this point. Appreciate Sully for the two Cups, but this was slightly overdue.

He gone. End of an era. Back to back cups was simply amazing. But time to move on.

Wish Sully the best, and don’t expect him to be unemployed long if he wants to keep going.

But am excited to see the next era of Penguins hockey and get this team back on an upswing.

So... Rick Tocchet? Seems likely, unless they go to the Wilkes-Barre Coach.

Tocchet may have to choose which side of the PA turnpike

Some speculation that it will be David Quinn as a “placeholder” coach to get the team through the rebuild. He was head coach in San Jose and for the Rangers and was brought in as a Pens assistant last summer to work with the defense (too bad he didn’t have a reliable goaltender, although the D was a mess too). https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/pengu ... tant-coach He was apparently the only assistant coach the Pens retained.

Dubas has said he wants the WBS coach (MacDonald?) to get a few more years in at the AHL level. By the time they are competitive again, a lot of the players on the Pens roster will have played for him in WBS, so who knows?

The hot property pick is the current coach at the University of Denver, David Carle. He turned down an offer from the Chicago Blackhawks

Sullivan was unemployed for about 10 minutes. Reportedly signed to be the highest paid head coach in the league.

People here don't want to believe it but we will see the same thing with Tomlin after he leaves the Steelers.

Just because Sullivan got snapped up quickly doesn't mean letting him go was the wrong move for the Pens. His message to players and the philosophy that won the Cups had gotten stale, actually had been for a while. Same thing very well might happen with Tomlin, but the same will apply. The Iggles had to ditch Andy Reid before they won two Lombardis. The Pens ditched a Cup-winning coach to promote Sullivan and win two cups. Bill Cowher took over a pretty stale but talented Noll team, made a tweak or two, provided a fresh voice and philosophy, and had them back in it after a year.

Change can be a good thing. Keeping coaches past their sell-by date never is.

I agree 100%. I thought I included in my post that it was time for Sullivan to go and past time for Tomlin to go.

I think the change will be good for both the coach and the organization.

I really didn’t think he would, but he’s known and respected

If he can do a Craig Berube ala St Louis Blues 2019 then I’ll be impressed
