News just broke that Panarin will be taking a leave of absence from the Rangers. A story just surfaced that he (allegedly) assaulted a woman in Russia back in 2011.
This is a huge blow to the Rangers, as Panarin literally provides half of their offense.
In what I am sure is a totally unrelated story, Panarin is one of the few high profile Russian athletes to be critical of Putin. Make of that what you will.
So, um, Artemi Panarin.....

I wonder if Myron Bolitar is involved? If he is, the next question is how many people is Win going to kill?
Seriously, his absence is huge but you have to wonder why he needs to take a break over a case that might have happened 10 years ago? What about statues/limitations?
It is not healthy to oppose Putin.

So the source is his former KHL coach relaying the story to Pravda. Yes, that Pravda. He allegedly beat up a woman in the lobby of a hotel in Latvia, and conveniently the Latvian police buried it. Check out this whopper:
This whole thing stinks. Here's the story
Ya don't say....Nazarov said he was motivated to speak about the alleged incident because he disagreed with Panarin’s repeated criticism of the Russian government.
