They will pull a Lucy on us. They’ll continue to win and have the inside track with two games left.. and then finish with two turds.

Wildly entertaining week. I blame Malkin's parents.

I had them left for dead after the trade deadline and the Guentzel mourning period they were in.
The turnaround, very unexpected. Maybe too little too late, BUT great to see. Getting 2nd wind contribution from the old hats & the new names. If the middling players step up & they Tomlin their way into the playoffs, they could win a few games.

I’m so happy they’re giving it a go. The 5 or so games on either side of the trade deadline were just depressing.
It’s sad seeing Father Time catch up to the core, but it’s been 17 years of championships, individual brilliance, and genuine role model type behavior. I’m gonna miss it so much when they’re gone.
So even if it doesn’t amount to so much as a playoff berth, Im gonna view these 5 games of semi relevance as a gift, and commit 100% belief that they can pull it off. They deserve that much.
LETS GO PENS!!!

Won't argue the point about the Pens blowing leads this year but it has been a trend around the league this year and going back several more.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 4:12 amDVRd and just finished watching. I saw little of yesterdays game.
Bunting has been a good fit. Reminds me of Kunitz a bit.
We talk about the PP and its failures this year. The blown leads the lack of scoring from beyond the top line.
What about Dubas and taking 60 games to find a winger for Malkin? Or Sully not finding a combination that would work with him? Granted 71 is slipping but he ain't done. It was like for 3/4 of the season they did nothing to help him, find a spark for him. Instead they demoted him on the PP which to me is insanity.
They admitted that the PP was reformulated to fit Karlsson's skill set. Wow.
Coaching and a stale GM(who started with a bang but slumped right after that) are as much to blame as any other aspect of the team for having to nearly win out to squeak into the playoffs.

Karlsson is the shooter on the PP, so it actually makes sense why it doesn’t work with him and Malkin. Karlsson takes shots when he has the opportunity to feed Malkin. Personally I like Jarsson as the #2 option for shooting, like feed Malkin’s one-timer but if they opposition takes it away, then shoot. Malkin’s one timer fed from Letang is exactly what’s missing from their power play of last year compared to this year. You see TB with Stamkos—imagine if they added Karlsson to their PP and he shot more from the point instead of feeding Stamkos at the dot!!! Or Overchkin! It’s so ridiculous I can’t even explain it.
