Hail Cesar!
2) Cesar Ruiz 6’4 319 OC Michigan-. I threw a brick at my ’60 when the Steelers traded up for Devin Bush last year, but I would applaud this scUM selection. Assuming BJ Finney and Ramon Foster are departing, interior OL becomes a HUGE need. HUGE dude right here whose father was tragically killed helping someone change a tire on the side of highway when Ruiz was just 8 years old. More than explains his NASTY on field demeanor. Make this pick happen Tombert.
3C) Malik Harrision 6’3 246 LB Ohio St- A Buckeye and a Wolverine back to back. Couple old school rival headbangers going at it gladiator style every day in practice. I dig. I’d say it’s a foregone conclusion either Vince Williams or Mark Barron is a cap casualty. I cut them both if it gives me money to sign a starting TE like say Austin Hooper in free agency. Oh Harrison. Fantastic HS athlete who played both QB and WR before arriving with the Steelers “Farm Team” in Columbus. I don’t know about you but I didn’t like seeing the Ravens and their backups running all over the Steelers in a must win week 17 game.
4T) Leki Fotu 6’5 337 NT Utah- Three MEAN, NASTY hombres in a row. I’m slaying it today. Unless y’all have any better suggestions for Hargrave’s replacement ‘ol Fotu here will remain a Drama repeat.
4) Colby Parkinson 6’7 251 TE Stanford- Former 5 Star recruit who will become the 6th Stanford TE underclassman to be drafted since 2013. My first time mocking this kid, but I dig the measurables. Big ‘sum bitch that can really move. Weapon. Do the Steelers even have a tight ends coach?
6) Reggie Floyd 6’0 222 S Virginia Tech- Mike Tomlin? Virginia? Duh. AGGRESSIVE, PHYSICAL, tone setter that Aviators is surely drooling over. Combine snub.
7) Aaron Parker 6’2 212 WR Rhode Island- Hell no I’ve never seen a Rhode Island football game but there’s a pre-combine buzz around this stat sheet filler. Said to have fantastic ball skills so WTF I’ll throw a late day 3 dart. My hope is the Steelers dive into this incredible WR class early and often but I’ll acknowledge B2B’s point that Tombert may not view their WR group in the same light that I/we do.
Thanks as always for reading. Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t. I kinda like this one. Lotta size and nasty. Combine can't get here soon enough.

You stumped me with the last two, Drama... kudos!

Cesar Ruiz is a Tomlin type pick. I think he will still be 22 at the draft.

I dig that big time. I’m also a huge fan of Michael Onwenu, Ruiz’s teammate. He’s big and mobile for a big man, Coach Phil Rauscher was singing his praises all week and raced about his footwork.
I like Reggie Floyd too, I feel like he and Terrell Edmunds are similar players, which is my only hesitation with him.
Parker looked good when I was down there. Great hands and smooth body control. He’s more of a possession and I don’t really see him being a downfield threat but think he could fill that Jerrico Cotchery type role.
Like both the Parkinson and Foku picks. Neither are super flashy but I think will be good pros.
Only one I haven’t really watched is Harrison and it’s because the ILB group is uninspiring as a whole.

I think the Michigan line will be better. Runyan is a good player too and has the NFL bloodlines that Tomlin loves....

That's pretty bold. I think they're each going to get 4 guys drafted this year.smithessmokin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:25 pmI think the Michigan line will be better. Runyan is a good player too and has the NFL bloodlines that Tomlin loves....

I’ve seen Ruiz mocked everywhere from round 1 to day 3. I think day 2 is where he falls. If Steelers like him, they need to pull the trigger in the second...he’ll be long gone when their next pick rolls around.
Love the mock Drama...one of the best I’ve seen so far.

Too close to call.
Love Ruiz and Bredeson at scUM but LSU has my guy Lloyd!!!
I’m just glad it’s looks like a really deep group at OL this year
Don’t forget my dawgs
Andrew Thomas -top 15 LT
Isaiah Wilson 6’7 345- barely 20 yrs old
Solomon Kindley- versatile guard
All 3 raw pieces of clay that need NFL coaching
“The Great Wall” couldn’t run block for shit.

I think you only draft a guy like Wilson if you are set for 2-3 years on the left side and you want to feature a power run game, but for a team with that specific fit, he'd be great. I keep trying to tell people, this draft class is crazy deep for OL––cherry-pick guys with positional value and fit.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 11:30 pmToo close to call.

Steelers have 3 OL over 30, two of whom have contracts that expire after 2020. We're going to see some OL draft picks for the Steelers this year. And yes, I said picks, plural.

Tyler Badass from Wisco @ 48! Screw the Wolverines...Position flexibility BtB!
Don't know whether it affects the pursuit of a FA TE, but the Steelers, per Schefter, are not one of the three teams in on Olsen. He's long in the tooth, and not who I'd target, either.
Should we do an FA thread somewhere?

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Any thoughts on Rams and Donkos not sending personnel to the Combine? Potential ramifications?

The way I understand it, they aren’t sending their assistant coaches. It looks like their head coach, GM, and scouts will be there.

Ridiculous to go after FA WR with the deepest WR draft in history staring you in the face. Every team is going to bring in like 2 guys, minimum, and they'll release good NFL WRs at some point. The market is going to be totally glutted w WR. IF you could get a Matt Brieda for a reasonable deal, I'd endorse that, but finding value in RB market seems... implausible.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 6:57 amColbert mentioned that if they go fa he look at WR or RB

Please don't kill the messenger lol
all of the quality TEs that are about to be released. Walker and Reed stand out. I do not understand why they would accept the option on McDonald when they are so tight with the cap.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 6:35 pmRidiculous to go after FA WR with the deepest WR draft in history staring you in the face.
