Week 1 College Football

Post by jebrick » Sat Aug 30, 2025 9:20 pm

Watching Allar and Penn St. in the 1st half, Tomlin mush of had a chubby watching the Steeler offense in action.

Mendoza ( Indiana) needs more time. Most of his throws were to stationary WR. Very few hitting a WR in stride while crossing. Has quite a cannon on those sideline throws but oddly, not a very good deep ball.

Bama losing as bad as they did warms my heart.

LSU about the only non-cupcake bright spot for the SEC yesterday.

Iameleava is exactly who I thought he was. Please cross him off your QB list. Not sure he is draftable at this point.

I need to watch a replay of the LSU/Clemson game. Sounds like the coaches put governors on their offenses/QBs

Both QBs were under duress

Especially Klubnik

Dude has some really nice escapability but his accuracy left something to be desired

Clemsons top WR Antonio Williams leaving early didn’t help matters

Got to watch B2B favorite, T. Green in Arkansas. Sounds like he had a banner day. Love to see him improve his accuracy which was his big issue last year.

One drive from Lanorris Sellers all I needed to see to know the Steelers aren’t sniffing that guy….

…Unless barring some miracle NHALS implodes in epic fashion

Go COCKS!

Sellers still needs experience. He has looked decent but also gets frustrated by the zone.

Drones (VT) looks much better than he did last year.

I'm A Leavin looked really rough last night for sure. The Buckeyes took his soul on that cold night in Columbus. Decent wheels, but still tiny and it all falls apart when he actually has to pass. Utah is a FAR better team than UCLA, but if you're a draftable prospect, you have to come up big in a big game at some point, right?

Taylon Green has not improved his accuracy. Someone will gamble on him but I would not touch him until day 2. you can't be a successful NFL QB with ball placement that bad.

Adien Green (VT) was making George Pickens type catches vs SC. Keep an eye on him in this weak WR draft.

As I keep saying, i like my QBs that can pass the ball. :D

He’s very physically gifted, and thats what makes him a coach killer because he’s got too big of an ego and isn’t great at the mental aspects of football.

Most of the top QB prospects struggled this week. Nussmeier and Sellers had some good moments. I’ve seen too much of Allar shitting his pants and getting inaccurate in big moments for me to want the Steelers to draft him.

I've already penciled in Allar for the Steelers in 2026. Franklin runs the Steeler offense so Tomlin is in love already.

Week 2 a VERY weak slate of games

Underrated good game is Illinois vs Duke

Duke qb Darian Mensah is just a sophomore but kids a fun watch
Nick Markakis on Astros: "Every guy over there needs a beating."

Has a decentd shot at being tone of he Olympic flag football QBs in one of the next two Olympiads, especially if the NFL balks at letting NFL guys go.

Drones might be Cam Ward's cousin, but he looks and smells an awful lot like Jaden Hurts. He's having a similar development trajectory, so... maybe.

Speaking of underclassmen QB prospects, two of the best I've seen had great weekends:

Andrew Body, Alabama State

Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, Cal

If Tomlin remains, Allar is the odds on favorite. Like a 75% chance.

Boy you're not kidding about the schedule.

Oklahoma v Michigan is a nice test for John Mateer & the Sooners.

My underrated game would be Arkansas State vs Arkansas. Arkanasas State is a decent group of 5 team, playing their Super Bowl–first time in history they are playing Arkansas.

I should have revised that. Drones looked good in the 1st quarter when he could throw on time. SC changed up their defense and we were back to old Drones who sucks. He might be a 7th rounder at this point. i was hoping for more improvement
