week 6

Post by jebrick » Sun Oct 05, 2025 12:38 pm

Allar looks like he will fall to the Steelers so they will not use that much draft capitol trading up for him. /s

How impressive was Ryan Puglisi, Georgia ( even though he is a true freshman)? Wow, that kid can throw.

Everyone can now give Manning some time away from being the next savior of all QBs. I almost feel sorry for him.

Simpson, again looked good.

Darian Mensah getting on the list.

I need to catch up on other games.

Yesterday's DJ Lagway looked worth watching, but there's the problem with him so far.

• Friday late night in picturesque Provo, Bear Bachmeier (cool name) carved up the Mountaineers once again prompting the question, “Who the hell thought it was a good idea to bring back Rich Rodriguez?” Sorry WVU fans.

• Game Day has been my show since its inception. It’s slipping. NO MORE THEO Von (Whoever the fuck that is). The lovely Jess Simms put that toolbox in his place. “Will I get to see you again?” “I hope not.” Translation: Fuck off, ya half a meatball.

• I dig McAfee, but it’s time to lose the FG contest (300k buys a lot of Ozempic made me chuckle. Shallow I am).

• To improve the once GREAT Game Day, I suggest touring the campus’ historical sites. Hit some tailgates and local establishments. THAT is what makes college football sooo special and a vastly superior experience to the NFL.

• Nick Saban is an American treasure, “You’re full of shit” during the Belichick interview. Saban is my guy. I totally understand if he isn’t yours.

• I can’t recommend T-Town enough. If you’re a fan of college ball, I hope you make it there just once before you die.

• Karma- defined by turning down Georgia tickets only to have JOE TESSATORE on the call. Someone PLEASE tell that MORON that there is NOTHING REMOTELY exciting about a 2 yard run.

• Georgia’s OL might be the most fragile group in the history of football.

• TE Oscar Delp is criminally underused by Bobo the Clown.

• Scoop up Stoops. When Stoops gets shit-canned from Kentucky, I hope Kirby hires him to fix his broken defense.

• Chapel Bill, dying on the Hill, takes a pill to give his girl a thrill.

• If I woke up this morning with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised to see the 48-7 beat down Pitt put on Bill O’Brien. I sure hope freshman sensation Mason Heintscehl hasn’t saved Pat Narduzzi’s job.

• The Chris Bell to the Steelers watch is on.

• Broken record I am, but CBS losing the SEC marquee matchups for garbage BIG Ten games like Penn State vs UCLA just feels all wrong. ABC/ESPN can’t compete with their production and big game vibe.

• Diego Pavia a little TOO MUCH swagger lately. Be confident not cocky. Two turnovers cost his team big time. Tough little bastard though.

• Clark Lea and his staff seem loyal to Vandy, but they will have their choice of schools if they so choose. The job they’ve done in Nash-vegas doesn’t get talked about enough.

• ABC showing Pavia’s mom every 5 seconds, but not when he turned the ball over? Spare me the mom shots. And somebody buy Ty Simpson’s mom some Bama gear for Gawd’s sake!

• I have no inside source on this, but I think Ty Simpson stays at Bama another year further weakening an already overhyped QB class.

• Penn State made Nico look draftable again.

• Sark’s seat getting hot down in Texas. Hopefully James Franklin’s seat stays nice and cold. I want him coaching Penn State for life!

• Who is DJ Lagway really??? I know who Arch isn’t.

• Doak Campbell a cool atmosphere. Chief whats his name planting the flaming spear gives me chills. Cleveland Guardians my ass! Bring back Chief Wahoo!

• Ruben Bain is still him (stupid little phrase right there).

• PJ Fleck’s little boat sprang a leak. Carnell Tate breaking oars up there in Columbus.

• Michael Irvin is also an American treasure, and Holly Rowe is one tough broad! Great interaction after they got run over on the sidelines of the FSU/Canes game.

• Top to bottom I still feel the SEC boat races the Big Ten, but Oregon and Ohio State my favorites to win the Natty.

• If I see one more fair catch inside the 5 OMG! Who coaches these dumbasses!

• Duke’s Manny Diaz has earned a job at a Power 2 school

• Good marketing by Dr. Pepper to allow Sheriff Boz to appear in the Nissan commercial with Baker and Barry.

Penn State made Nico look draftable again.
No one could do that.

I don't care if it was Minnesota, Ohio State looked near perfect on Saturday night. Sayin is deadly accurate and getting more confident every week. Day, Hartline, and Patricia have that team humming right now.

Franklin should've been fired on the tarmac. Penn St. is even more of a joke for letting this go on any longer. Who cares what the buyout is, send him packing.

Brendan Sorsby and Cincy are a fun team to watch if you haven't seen them yet.

The Bearcats have a player I would love to see on the Steelers but I'm confident they will not draft...The Godfather, Dontay Corleone DT.

tOSU is moving well given the turnover thay had in the off season. Not sure if they have all the horses for this year but they will next year.

I'd love Franklin the Turtle in State College for life, too, but I'd be surprised if he makes it till next season. They pushed it all into the pot this season. Seniors coming back, 20 million in NIL, transfer portal shopping spree, buying championship assistants... somebody has to pay for this result. Franklin will have the rest of the season to right the ship, but it's a tall, tall order.

That's going to be a very desperate team rolling into The Shoe in a couple weeks. It's realistically their last shot at saving any kind of face.

And Charles, on tOSU, the Xs and Os have been great, the roster has a ton of talent, but there's a calm to the HC that is night and day from previous years. Pun intended, but I think he grew tremendously from last year's experience, the ups and probably moreso the downs.

Perfectly said Ice. I never thought Day would be top of the list for coaches of my favorite teams, but here we are. Are you a Pitt grad?

Drama, McNeill-Warren is the real deal. Size, speed, instincts. He sticks out to me like Quinyon did. He'll end up a day 2 guy. The whole divided family will be in the house Saturday when the Rockets take on team Eddie George. Should be a good one.

@Charles Demarr After high school, I had my choice of making my mom's side of the family happy and heading to Columbus, or making my dad's side happy and going to South O. Pitt had the urban campus, a lot of family still living in the area, and the best creative writing and journalism departments of any of my choices, so I went with Pitt, but definitely have a soft spot for both schools, with a deeper Buckeye connection since mom passed about ten years ago. Gives an opportunity to keep in touch with, and go to the odd game with, uncles, aunts and cousins I might otherwise have lost touch with over the years. Can only imagine from the Tressel and Meyer championships how much she would have loved last year's team and their redemptive story.

The Steelers apparently were all over Corleone last year. It wouldn't totally shock me if they were to take him in rd 2.

Love it...great backstory.

Pitt's new QB Heintschel looked great last week. He's a Toledo area kid. I'll be rooting for him.

I was totally surprised by Heintschel. Made for a really entertaining afternoon on Saturday. I watched the whole blowout, not ashamed to admit. After the season to this point, I felt I deserved it. My aunt in Shadyside listens every Saturday (and to the Steelers every Sunday) on the radio, and we shared a few glasses of wine over the phone enjoying the moment.
