MLB Playoffs

Post by Obviously » Fri Oct 04, 2019 12:29 am

Anyone watching the MLB Playoffs? Plenty of ex-Pirates playing:

Rays: Charlie Morton, Austin Meadows, Tyler Glasnow
Yankees: J. A. Happ
Astros: Gerrit Cole
Braves: Francisco Cervelli, Mark Melancon
Dodgers: David Freese, Russell Martin

Am I missing anyone?

Would love to watch this game with Neil Huntington.

This tells me Ray Searage isn't all that.

And luckily he's been canned along with Hurdle.

I hadn't caught that, but yes, dismissed on 10/3 along with bench coach Tom Prince.

So is it my imagination (or I haven't followed baseball in who the fuck knows how many years), but since when are the playoffs not aired on local tv?

Yankees are playing tonight, but the game isn't being aired on local television.

Is this new? Same shit happened with the rangers.

But the NFL is different?

Been a few years, CT. Getting worse especially the last two or three years. Presumably audiences are not good, but it seems insane that you can't find the Yankees on local TV, or at least on their own YES channel, in the ALCS. You have to go to FS1 for fuck's sake.

I love baseball. And ALCS Game 6 was a classic. But my god are these games too damn long. A 9 inning game that is 4 hours long is a travesty to the sport.

As far as I could tell the pitch clock went out the window (if they ever enforce it).

When I saw at halftime of the PSU game that it was only the third inning I was thinking Holy Jesus!
