Yeah, CK is struggling to stay relevant. That's why he turned that tryout into a circus last year. I don't think he has any interest in returning to the NFL, and in a few more years when everyone else realizes this he will be forgotten.
Forgotten? By then he will likely be the Mayor of Oakland, Ca or somewhere similar.
Fully agree that he's biding his time and within 5 years he'll be into politics. Might even parlay this into the Presidency even further down the road
Gotta give him credit for playing the long game. I also respect what he's done in the community even though I didn't care for the manner how he started this whole thing

If we are lucky maybe all or none of the posts will be deleted not just a few random ones. Anyway, it would be nice to have football back again with or without CK.
Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS. :D :D :D

If nothing else, the distraction sport would provide would be welcome, very welcome. Right now, I could use some opiate to keep me distracted.

I'm tired of people dismissing justified grievance on the grounds that there is other justified grievance. Very tired.
And where did I do that?
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I hear if you ask your doc for a prescription, opiates are totally available. Just tell them you are in pain.

With all his baggage, I'd still take CK over the stiffs we have on the roster to back up Ben.

It isn't random at all: you cross a line with race or political discussion, and the post gets deleted. You continue to do it and you get a timeout. You flagrantly do it and blow through the stop sign, you're getting 86ed.

There are plenty of ways to discuss CK <--> NFL without talking specific politics or race issues. I agree that everything is commingled at this point (and that perhaps it always has been) but imagine that you're a neutral observer who's just trying to make an enjoyable Steelers message board and it will be easy to post without running afoul of the moderator.

Thanks for explaining the process.
Also, I am guessing it may not be the post itself that is at issue but possibly the quoted text that the poster responded to that causes the ax to fall.
Thank you for all your efforts.

When possible, I have excised just the quoted text, but often the quoted text inspires an equally political reply.

What if Drew Brees made the comments that Deseans spewed. Be on all the networks, opening story 6:00 and 11:00 news.
Amazing the double standard and the hidden voices that did not come out to attack Desean.

Drew Brees comments were what he believed in.
He stands for the flag for the reasons he gave.
He got in trouble for saying he does not agree with those who kneel during the anthem.

Unfortunately, mob rule and the mass media, is taking away freedom of speech.
Where were all the teammates and NFL players saying they would have a hard time playing with Desean?

Drew did not say anything offensive, like Desean.
He just dissaggreed with others position,
and that is being trampled on in today's
attack on the 1st amendment.

You have freedom of speech, as long as it is agreeable to the mob.

Stosh, what exactly do you think the first amendment guarantees and from what do you think it offers protection? My understanding is that it protects us from govt interference with free speech, not twitter mobs.

The mob came for Drew and before it came for kneeling players.

Yup. A sumer of busboy and short order cook a long time ago. I guess most of the people I know that use that term (including "in the weeds") usually have food service experience.

The First Amendment is about protection from the government taking away your free speech. The government is not taking away Drew's or DeSean's free speech. They were free to say what they said, and, funny thing about free speech, you're allowed to say what you want, and others are allowed to say what they think about what you said as others did with Drew and DeSean. You are free to say what you want, but you still must suffer any consequences associated with exercising that right.

For DeSean to make outright anti-semitic comments when the owner & general manager of the Eagles are both Jewish is moronic. I am glad that the team's front office & ownership did not overreact & he will get some education & counseling about anti-semitism. Free speech is guaranteed by the constitution but athletes are public figures & should be careful in using hate language.

I’m sure a good many people that have fallen victim to the “cancel culture” and lost jobs etc for much much less than what Jackson said wished they received the same leniency & understanding he did.
