Got fucked over as usual, almost all year people have been predicting that the Steelers would also get a 6th round pick.

It looks like we just missed out on a 6th, they only give out 32 in a given year.

The process isn't just that a player signs a deal, leaves in free agency and you get a guaranteed comp pick. The size of the contract, the playing time, accolades, etc go into the formula.

For example, BJ Finney, he was traded by Seattle to Cincy for Dunlap, how the hell does that impact the comp formula? And even when he was still with Seattle, he only played in 6 games and did not start any of the games. He basically rode the bench, he had 0 snaps on offense.

Dirty Red went to Buffalo and he had all of 72 snaps on defense. That is one expensive special teams player, he signed a 2 year deal for $7.15 million.

Outside of Javon Hargrave, the Steelers simply signed too many players that canceled out the Finney and Dirty Reds. Which is why I think the Steelers need to tread carefully this offseason and not cancel out the Dupree, JuJu, Mike Hilton, Big Al, Feiler contracts by signing outside free agents.

FA should really be limited to players who were cut. They don't count against the compensatory formula.

I wish that we could pony up enough money to sign Fisher (assuming he is healthy).

Torn achilles in the AFCCG. He's not expected to play next season.

Remember Mahomes running for his life in the Super Bowl? Get ready for a lot of that next season.

It is that long of a recovery? I would've thought 6+ months is enough time to heal but guess I am off.

4-12 Months before you can play again and possibly longer to be full go NFL ready.

According to this survey, the average recovery time for a blown achilles in the NFL is 9 months, and that doesn't include the 26% of players who never played again.

Turn the 4th round pick into an upside WR pick to replace Juju and we're good.

Steelers should wait until the 2nd tier of FA so they do not count negatively vs the comp

So you're saying waiting for the 3rd tier every season has been our mistake...

Signing in 3rd tier FA in the first tier is a problem but signing them in the 2nd tier/wave makes them not count against the comp formula.
