1 minute of Dionte Johnson working on his craft. Not seeing any drops is a good sign.

I will continue to root for DJ.......IMO hes not gonna be a guy that helps force choices by defensive co-ordinators.......is there a spot for him as the 3rd or 4th WR on the field ?? Probably. At least he seems better than Washington by a tick or 2.

The Steelers REALLY need a GREAT rookie draft pick to become a chain mover type
Colts Draft 2024
1 Terrion Arnold DB
2 T’Vondre Sweat DL
3 Isaac Guerendo RB/WR
4 Tykee Smith DB
5 Ainias Smith WR/RB
6 KT Leveston OL
7 Ulumoo Ale DL/OL

Talent wise, Johnson might be the most talented receiver we have.

Claypool had a great rookie year. Johnson's wasn't too shabby either.

Don't be surprised next year if Diontae becomes a Pro Bowler for years to come.

Yeah, the kid is that good.

Not sure about that.......I dont think it translates to wins against good teams......

I think he looks good in Pittsburgh because the Steelers are such a bad team top to bottom

Bad team from top to bottom seems a little harsh.

Yeah. Ok. Dropped pass leader in the NFL, 2020. Nobody said he couldn't run routes.

But scroll down and watch the bud dupree highlights.

You wanna let that guy walk?

Johnson was terrible for a good portion of the season with the drops.

But....dude stopped dropping passes later in the year and played great. Played the way he was expected to.

Again, talent-wise, Johnson has everything you want in a receiver.

Nobody wants Dupree to walk, but he's going to want more money than TJ Watt will demand.

Bud ain't gonna get it. No chance.

Ben Cam Vince Dotson .....maybe Haden.....maybe Alualu....

Only guys on this team I really trust.....

Alot of the ones left suck
The ones that dont suck try hard but dont have enough talent

The coaches at best are ultra conservative.....at worst they lack ability and/or motivation.....

Colbert and the FO pull off some nice things.....they fuck up alot as well.....the Steelers havent had much at TE for 6-7 years running.....RB has been a complete joke as a unit for a long time.....dont bring up Bell to the contrary....competitive teams need 3 quality backs + a FB at minimum

WR hasnt been great either

The owner is a total milquetoast. It wouldnt surprise me to learn he volunteered to schedule fuck this team last year

I think they're pretty good at WR, even sans Juju. The drops are coachable, and seems like the players are working to get better. We got one decent production season out of Conner, and OK, I won't count Bell. They'll add talent there in the draft. O-line? Is it coaching? Lack of talent? Little of both. They'll add talent. Fitz and Watt are pretty standout players. Bush is wait and see. Not sure of Highsmith's ceiling, but I think they'll upgrade at LB and edge, too. Tuitt just needs to put it all together. There's some talent to work with.

All that's keeping Johnson away from being elite is his hands. He has Antonio Brown type talent if he can fix that problem, and yes, it's a huge problem.

Dupree is going to get a ton of money from a bad team that always overpays and always sucks.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, β€œWhy do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied β€œWhy do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I just dont believe it. I think we have one of the lower end coaching staffs in the NFL as far as coaching players up

Now that I pretty much agree with, unfortunately.

I agree. Bad hands are bad hands, and all the coaching in the world isn’t going to move the needle much. He’s working on it, and will probably see some marginal improvement, but it’s very likely that the drops will haunt him his entire career. Wasn’t that the knock on him in college also?
I just don’t see the road to stardom with this kid that others do.

Seems he did much better when you let him run a full route and then throw a ball he has to go get.

Could be remembering wrong but didn’t most of his drops come via the 2 yard passes in traffic?

Ben needs a new Heath.

I believe you are correct.
Seemed like the dink and dunk routes, with a short quick pass, knowing 2 or three guys are barreling down on your back, were the ones he could not hold onto.

And as the Steelers offense continued to shrink the routes and tightened the offense as the season went on, defenses knew exactly what was coming.
And the opponents let us know.
We continued to not change.

It did seem his hand were better on longer routes, out routes towards sidelines and over the top plays.

Duuuh. If you read the whole comment, you saw that I said "huge problem".

One thing AB did was show the WR Corp where the bar was for performance, execution and preparation.

Since he left and the coaching death and coaching changes….WR Corp, coupled with sub-par OC game plans, awful running game and it is no wonder we imploded. We need a huge boost to the running attack to bail this WR Corp out, or the WR Corp needs to be improved with a number 1 talent to help the running game. JuJu isn’t worth the money.

Spend the money on the RB Corp and draft some additional WRs. Or vice versa or both.
