Ehhh, average at his best, but the only one along with Spillane and Alualu they can afford.

His value is in the versatility: he can play slot, backup outside, backup at safety––allows for disguised looks in nickel and dime.

I like it. I agree with B2B, I like his versatility. It helps in the TO department, too.

They really had to sign Sutton or Hilton. Sutton is cheaper, better in coverage and more versatile. I endorse this signing big time.

I really like this move think the steelers got a good deal and Sutton provides excellent depth at more than one spot.
For the player he is, he's definitely a steal for me at that price. He was pretty damn fantastic last season and is a hugely versatile piece. Absolutely huge to keep him if we're losing Hilton. To get him for a hair more than Derek Watt's worthless ass? I'll take it, gladly.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 9:18 pmThat was the exact contract Spotrac had as his "market value" 2 yrs/$9M

And we keep Joe Haden. Now we need a inside LB with speed to go with Bush.
I'd run to the podium if JOK was available at #24.jewelsongs wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:36 pmAnd we keep Joe Haden. Now we need a inside LB with speed to go with Bush.

I rank the ILB with speed as a top need. Even over an OLB to replace Bud to the Tits. LoL.jewelsongs wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:36 pmAnd we keep Joe Haden. Now we need a inside LB with speed to go with Bush.
Highsmith can hold it down but we do need someone to rotate in.

I'm glad they chose coverage over the CB blitz specialist.Steelperch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:42 pmThey really had to sign Sutton or Hilton. Sutton is cheaper, better in coverage and more versatile. I endorse this signing big time.
Hilton will likely be a disappointment in a different system ala Bryant McFadden.

I hope the steelers don’t miss hilton the way they missed mcfadden in ‘09.Havoc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:28 pmI'm glad they chose coverage over the CB blitz specialist.Steelperch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:42 pmThey really had to sign Sutton or Hilton. Agree we missed McFadden in '09, an underrated role player who fit nicely into Lebeau's system for what he was asked to do here.Mick wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 4:17 pmI hope the steelers don’t miss hilton the way they missed mcfadden in ‘09.Havoc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:28 pmI'm glad they chose coverage over the CB blitz specialist.Steelperch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:42 pmThey really had to sign Sutton or Hilton. This is a great signing. He can play at least 5 positions on the D.Jobu wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 9:01 pmhttps://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... OUzZpSn1ZU

I will be interested in what Hilton gets I have heard 7 million a year but that was pre covid. Would be interesting if we can get both back for 5 million or less per season.

Nice, man.
