Boz -- Higher % on FGs as opposed to PATs

Has this ever happened in the history of the NFL for a fulltime PK?

Maybe moving the extra point attempts back a bit causing them to be more like FGs has something to do with it.
Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS. :D :D :D

Sure, but 35 yard FGs are still pretty gimmie FGs.

But, he's also trying a lot more of them (extra point attempts) -- more chances to miss (something go wrong)....just sayin'. Idk.... :?

I think he has attempted more FGs as opposed to PATs this year. I am not saying there is something wrong with Boz (he has probably been if not the best the second best kicker in the NFL this year). Just a weird statistical quirk.

It happened last year for him, too. (regular season stats)

2020
95% on FGs (19/20)
89.47% on PATs (34/38)

2021 (so far)
96% on FGs (24/25)
90.90% on PATs (20/22)

Was at game yesterday.
They did not show a replay of the miss.
Did it get tipped?
Foot slip?

Yes - Harrison Butker last season for Kansas City. 92.6% on FGs, 89% on XPs.

I mean, I'd rather have (given the high percentages) the misses be on XPs as opposed to FGs. And really if you throw Boz' 47 attempts all into one bucket Boz is still 44/47 which is stupendous (especially considering the number of 50 yarders).

Just a bit odd.

Nope. Just a dead snap hook off the tee. Footing even looked ok on the replay. Just hit it wrong.

This is apparently more common that I realized.

In 2020, there were (at least) four besides Boswell:
Harrison Butker, KC
Younghoe Koo, Atl
Mason Crosby, GB
Nick Folk, NE (same applies in 2021 as well)

Josh Lambo did it in 2018.
Justin Tucker was dead even in 2019.

I got bored and stopped researching at this point.

He missed so badly, I thought it might be a poor hold. But on replay, it looked like he just shanked it…sorta like my sand wedge.
NHALS = NFL purgatory

Boz has hit NINE straight 50+ yard field goals.

7 of 7 on the season
14 of 15 last 5 years.

16 of 19 for his career.

The whole game was a cluster fuck.

I wonder if it's a focus/mentality thing.

Missed FG = F! After all that work we got zero points on the drive!

Missed XP = Oh well, we got 6. Missed 1, no biggie. We'll make it up on the next TD with a 2 pointer.
