how about a baseball/ hockey score? 5-3. Has that ever happened in the modern football era?bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:01 pmI rooting for a bunch of weird scores tonight, like a safety and a missed XP.
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

No shame in losing to the much better KC team next week.
Plus, another week for TJ to break the record.

Just imagine shitting on Ben today. You watch this guy do nothing but win ballgames for 18 long years. He is the single most clutch QB with the game on the line you’ve ever seen. He brings you 18 seasons of consistent winning records and legit SB contending teams. He destroys his body and plays till damn near 40 years old before finally announcing these next couple weeks are going to be it for him.
Instead of enjoying his last games and appreciating his career you spend your time shitting on the man, wishing he’d retire already, calling for his backup, and blaming him for every missed play by the offense. Then he does what he does, leads a game winning drive in the 4th quarter, and another in OT.
There are some seriously spoiled people in this fan base. Ungrateful at that. Or they just have IQs under 70 and love to show them off. Some of you guys didn’t deserve Ben. Maybe you deserve 25 years of Kent Graham level play like we saw after Bradshaw.
So if you got banned from this thread today, feel free to launch your attacks at me here. You’re all unbanned now.

Mason will be perfect... to stack 10+ losses next year to secure the pick to give a shot at the next QB. I say give a shot because we'd be damned lucky to come anywhere near what we've had for the last two decades. But till then, I'm fine with enjoying the last ride.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Imagine being the world's worst sad sack, a loser that smells no matter how many showers you take, your hair is always greasy and you can't hold a conversation with your own mother, who coincidently is the only woman that will actually speak to you, and somehow through some "can't but me love" scenario you get a date to the prom with the girl you've been crushing on since kindergarten and amazingly she falls victim to some spiked punch, so that evening she shows you her boobies and you can't get over how her nipples weren't pink enough....Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:45 pmJust imagine shitting on Ben today. This win was incredible, Ben's career is incredible.
Now realize that Ben's first career game was against the Ravens and his last career game, which might also be against the Ravens, he won.
now I personally will enjoy each game he has left and I will echo the sentiment of one more year.
I leave you with the knowledge that the 2008 Steelers offensive line might be as bad as this one, and that the Steelers only won by a miracle second catch attempt by Holmes and the game was only in contest because of the single most incredible play in Superbowl history.
I knock on wood because I am superstitious and don't want to upset Jobu, but friends, I ride

All conversions by Ben on that final drive…. And some people chose to spend the day shitting on the guy for missing a couple of throws early in the game in a 30 degree rain storm. Miserable humans they must be. I can just imagine what spectacular athletes they are too.

How about our Tight Ends! We may have an NFL enviable TE crew for next season. Gentry and Muth are amazing!
If our WR crew could just get the consistency that the TEs seem to have.
I actually can’t wait to get JuJu back. I think he will become WR1 again, and maybe DJ will operate better in his shadow.
I just spit up some vomit…I have Ben, in my mind’s eye, in my next season line-up next season….and that probably won’t happen.

Really can't overstate how clutch Ben and the receivers were on each of these plays.

Do you think any of the of this will be talked up by the national media tomorrow? Unlikely…they’ll spend the day ball washing Rodgers, Brady, and Burrow.
You guys realize someone calling a duck of a pass a duck of a pass doesn't mean they hate or don't appreciate Big Ben, right? It's a live game thread with live reactions. Saying a ball that was overthrown by five feet was a shit pass in a game thread doesn't mean you're a f'n hater or that you don't appreciate what Ben's career has been. Some of us can even walk and chew gum at the same time too, it's wild.
As someone who was pulling for us to sputter out and improve our draft position, I can admit that I was wrong and that the fourth quarter and OT today with that final drive was fun as hell (and so fitting for Ben's career). It was worth whatever draft spot we gave up especially because I hate that f'er Harbaugh and the Ravens that much, even though I suspect we'll get creamed next week at K.C. But hey, if you want to ban folks who donate by Paypal every time the collection plate is sent out and talk up the podcast whenever people hit you up for a good Steelers podcast rec, for not even breaking any board rules, especially given the other stuff that flies (not complaining, just pointing out)... so be it.

agreed pathetic and very disrespectful
It just looked to me like he was playing injured, and the logic was “well, we’re out of the playoffs and it’s the last game of Ben’s career so we’ll just have him shotput a handful of passes for his finale and let that be it”. But then JAX took a big lead. Ben’s had many way better games than today this season, and he was clearly the best QB we had available for this year.

I maintain a lot of the guys on this site that criticize Ben also love the guy.

I think anyone that calls TJ, “Low” Watt should be banned. It’s so disrespectful to one of the best players in the league. But that’s just me…

My guess is everyone has this kind of reaction once in a while... its okay to point out when Ben misses a pass, even one that he probably hits 10/10 times when he's 28 years old, I know I do it... but let's be honest, there is no way I want anyone else on the roster under center.
I think there is a certain group here.. and they do it for other players.. that flat out just want to blame whomever is playing for the smallest thing that goes wrong. Your not going to bench Ben just like you are not going to cut DJ just like you are not going to sit Najee because they miss a throw, or drop a ball, or miss a hole... because in the end those guys still make a hell of a lot of plays.
There are even some who openly think Mason Rudolph would be a better option right now, hell some of them might even believe TJ Watt is average... but those people make it obvious they don't know football, and they are just looking for a rise out of people. They wouldn't say the same things sitting in a bar because people would see their face, and know how much of a friggan idiot they are... some might even tell them to their face how much of an idiot they are.
The only person I think we can all hold in contempt is this coaching staff... I gave them as many chances and benefits of the doubt as I can... but they are idiots. To me the latest absolute unforgivable coaching decision is for the offensive line and running backs to say last week was the first time they were all in meetings regarding film stufy of the o-line.
That's on tomlin... I don't give two shits what Klemm wanted... Tomlin is the head coach - he should have fixed that in week 0. That tells me he's not connected, and not in control.... or he has no idea what anyone under him is doing.

F that noise... this is Ben... its all Ben... its only been Ben.
Tomlin was and will always be an impediment.
