What Collinsworth didn't seem to understand was that the Raiders did have an incentive to win the game. A tie still gets them in but would have sent them to KC.

Smart call by their coach as the only really bad scenario at the end is a blocked kick for a TD.
Yeah. The risk reward there is worth the tiny odds of not getting into the playoffs.

I’m thinking Los Angeles called the timeout because they had to pretend they wanted to get the ball back to not make it look too obvious.

Then once the Raiders got into FG range on the next play they had to try for it to look good.

Make it or miss it, they win. They just happened to make it.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

They sure didn’t act like they were going with that script…not at the end.

My though was the coach was telling them to let the runner get the first down in hopes that the Raiders would then just run the clock out. A 4th down with time on the clock means they had to attempt a FG. Chargers played for a tie.

We don’t enjoy Steeler seasons.

We endure them.

Unless Mike Tomlin finally realizes how rare these chances are and tells Ben to go out in a blaze of glory?

I’m not touching that action.

He needs to do a Bill Cowher 2004 or we are fucked.
