Joe Burrow
We play them first game of the season in Cincinnati. Going to be big underdogs.
It was revealed today that it was actually not normal appendicitis. His appendix ruptured. Lost some weight and just now starting to practice.
Just thoughts on how this may affect him first game. Hate to see anyone get sick but maybe SBI he isn't fully back strength wise 3 weeks from Sunday?

Steelers +6.5 right now
I agree, I don't think the Bungles will be in sync at all week 1.
I also think they are going to have a hangover this year. Way too much praise for a team that came out of nowhere last season.
Perfect time to play them in my opinion.

Week 1 is always weird. Just look at last season:
Steelers won in Buffalo
New Orleans absolutely throttled Green Bay
Miami upset New England
Seattle won handily at Indy
Cleveland took KC down to the wire

Burrow will be just fine. If Bengals line has improved and holds up? It is going to be a long day for PS.
The Bengals have a sneaky good defense that showed up in a big way during the run last season. This is a good test for both Matt Canada and this revamped OL.
Take the Bengals and the under.
Steelers - 13
Bengals - 27
Our offense is going to be........ well, not good, especially to start the year.

I always mindlessly bet against the Super Bowl loser the first week of the following season. I will wait closer to game time to hopefully get more points
On a side note, when did Ben have his appendix out?
I think that was a week before the 2006 campaign, after he had already gone thru a windshield. Charlie Batch started.

The last 4 times Bengals have played a first place schedule they went
2006 8-8
2010 5-11
2014 10-5
2016 6-9
So they don't tend to do very well when having a first place schedule.

Played it last night on Madden 23
Had a 10-0 lead. Lost 24-13 lol.
Trubisky's stats were lol.

Got it. Ben was a mess that game. Sat out the following week, and seemed OK, relatively speaking, in Wk3. So Burrow will probably be fully recovered after 3 weeks. Not that he'll have to do much with that defense against our offense.
