Shame GA neglected to use this gargantuan mismatch properly:

Season - 28 for 454, 2TDs

SEC championship vs LSU - 1 rec for 14 yards

Semifinal vs OSU - 1 rec for 9 yards

Championship game vs TCU - 1 rec for 28 yards

With Brock Bowers (the aforementioned All-American TE) leading the team in receptions and TDs. Only so many balls to go around.

Washington was hurt (high ankle sprain at the beginning of the 2nd qtr of the Peach Bowl against OSU, and didn't return) and still recovering during these two games, respectively. But, even if he was 100%, Kirby wasn't going to make him a key receiving component -- especially when he blocks so well AND he had A-A Brock.

Let me ask you a question: Have you actually familiarized yourself with any of the WRs in this year's class? There are like 3-5 who are arguably better or have better traits than the rest of the class. And then there are like 50 guys with similar skillsets. I may pick one, but there wasn't a big advantage to taking one now vs later.

Furthermore, our LT was the worst in football, we have no starting SS, zero EDGE depth. Those things all need to be addressed, too.

I agree. There are a few I’m considering……. No way would I spend a 2 or 3 on a WR that would likely clog the pipeline to pair up someone better with Pickens…..I kinda doubt Anthony Miller becomes something but at one point he was thought of highly…..maybe he’s one of those guys that landed on the wrong team and benefits from new scenery

@Korey39 with another of my draft crushes. He's going to be dismissed as a "fullback", then after he works out, he'll be Kyle Juszczyk, then it will sink in that he's Najee Harris/Derrick henry sized and as athletic. Then what will they say?

....and we have 1 WR worth anything and that guy was a rookie last season. Diontae Johnson did more to hurt Pickett's development than to help it.

I won't even bother arguing that point. Diontae Johnson was awful last year.

They cannot go into next season with Pickens and nothing else to worry defenses in the passing game. I agree with you that the Steelers are going to pound the rock a lot in the coming years and frankly, I have no problem with that but there has to be balance. The running game will not work if the passing game isn't a threat and vice versa.

I'll say it again: Joe Burrow has 3 game changing receivers. We have 1 and that guy just completed his rookie year. Burrow wouldn't have become a star with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool 2 years ago. No way. No how. Big time receivers are necessary if you want to compete for championships unless Patrick Mahomes is your QB.
