Don't quit, we need you.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

Patterson is officially the biggest steal so far, as far as I'm concerned.

The ctual organization will do the same thing, take three years to do it instead of 1, will grab a regime-killer QB who won't get his year 5, they'll all be fired, and the next regime will do the same thing hoping for different results.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:55 pmJust another standard 17-pick draft w numerous trades and trading of best playerSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:23 pmColts 2023 Draft

One thing I will say: if there were ever a roster in the NFL who could be upgraded at 17 spots and by mid-late rounders, 2023 Indy is it.

Yeah ok. 17 pick drafts are common. What’s that? Never has happened since they went to 7 rounds? That’s ok, GM STD knows more about football than anyone in the Colts organization.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 6:17 pmThe ctual organization will do the same thing, take three years to do it instead of 1, will grab a regime-killer QB who won't get his year 5, they'll all be fired, and the next regime will do the same thing hoping for different results.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:55 pmJust another standard 17-pick draft w numerous trades and trading of best playerSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:23 pmColts 2023 Draft

- The Colts best player was a 27 year old guard who next who takes up over 12% of the cap next year. He had to go. I got a 2nd round pick value for him but even better I got that 2nd round value in multiple picks so I could target different levels of the draft. I knew going in Avila was the best center in the draft for my offense. I had him and Tippman who is to tall at center but I was gonna put him at LT or LG pegged as early 3rd late 2nd. The way my picks shook out I had to jump a little for Avila but he is the best so there is that. He and Mafi will make a very good LG C tandem for the Colts TE/RB centered offense. Truthfully probably better than Nelson and Kelly. Who also takes up a top end percentage of cap for what he is and who I am now in position to offload for….wait for it…..more picks next year. The Colts can probably get a 5th for him pretty easily post draft. That roughly 17% of the cap cleared as wellJizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:55 pmJust another standard 17-pick draft w numerous trades and trading of best playerSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 5:23 pmColts 2023 Draft

- I added Dotson for a 6th. Playing in his natural position at RG he likely plays well maybe even great next to Avila. Mafi Avila Dotson shapes up to be one helluva interior line. It has a good chance to be better than what the Colts had and much younger and cheaper.
- DeForrest Buckner I liked but he’s 29 and an IDL. Dual threat IDL like Buckner aren’t easy to replace but if you can live with one dimensional run stuffers on the IDL they are plentiful and some like Coburn and Martin who I picked up offer some penetration skills and position flexibility all across the line so I can move them if I need to take advantage of more great IDL falling in my lap next year. Factoring in a large rookie class and unloading some more vets post draft I freed up about 20-25% of the cap. That’s significant. I can sign at least 2 top end FAs if I like
- Washington is the best TE in the draft and potentially Gronk like in impact on my team. Period
- Stevenson is a tough cocky roughneck CB with speed and length. He is gonna pair up great with Dallis Flowers on the outside who also has outlier measurables.
- Starling Thomas V might be the fastest player in the NFL. He also had exceptional change of direction skills and is a willing tackler. Perfect slot CB. Potential mismatch unit. Which teams are going to be forced to throw into because they ARE NOT gonna run on Martin and Coburn the IDL I picked up
- Hall and Haener are probably gonna be ok early if I don’t put the whole team on them and the receivers. I like both. As crazy as teams get for QBs if they have even a little success by year 2 or 3 I can probably get a 2nd or 3rd for the guy other than my top guy. Right away I get 2 pretty good lottery tickets.
- Speaking of not putting the whole team on the QB and the receivers I consulted an outside evaluation firm with NFL connections on the RB unit. More or less to make sure I wasn’t falling in love with my own opinions. They said it was one of the better groups in the NFL which confirmed my thoughts and I added Chase Brown. Solid muscle and fast. I will take it.
- My one big regret is not landing Yasir Abdullah. I hadn’t research the LB situation much because I knew building a CB mismatch unit, and a IDL that would force throws into that mismatch unit, and fix the QB room, and adequately replace/upgrade Nelson was gonna be a tall order. All that said. Owen Pappoe ran a 4.3 loves to hit and plays at 225. WLB and SS are very tough positions to get elite performance at. Can he excell at those ?? I’m not sure but he has all the tools you could want. We will see.
- DJ Johnson will be a very good SLB or MLB. That will let me get better younger cheaper at SLB quickly. If he works well there he is a candidate to replace Shaq Leonard and his cap killing contract
- I feel pretty strongly about this. Ask any 3-5 legit football brain posters here to judge if you wish. My draft here will be much much better than the Colts real draft
Have a nice day

I forgot Keylon Stokes. Maybe the best Deebo Samuel role WR in this draft. Very solid returner too.
Probably won’t get drafted. If he goes to the right team he will do very well.
As it stands he is a perfect fit for my team

Our first skip this year. ol skool is AWOL. Hope all is well.
So, we move on and continue drafting-- when he texts me, all drafting will be frozen until he picks.

******** ANNOUNCEMENT & CORRECTION********
Pick 170 was supposed to be Tre Tucker WR of Cincinnati, not Tre Turner WR of Virginia Tech.
I've corrected it but be advised that Tre Turner is available.

The Jack Coletto pick is beautiful! Love that kid! Glad that someone else knows about him and how he could be useful in the NFL.

And don't be surprised if Bill Belichick can't resist drafting such a Swiss Army Knife.
I think Vikes are done. Having just 1 pick in the top 80 limited the ability to address every need with immediate impact guys. I’m sure most people are happy Their Guys fell to the places they got them, so I’m not going claim that as notable.

Nice Pick, Ommegosh
Fun fact for ya:
There have only been three SEC players to have 800 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards and 10 TDs in a season this century:
Percy Harvin
Dexter McCluster
Kenny McIntosh
