105-0 since 2018 ...
2018 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.
2021 - Cleveland Browns 28-0 lead in the 1st quarter
2022 - Kansas City Chiefs 35-7 in the 3rd quarter.
2024 - Buffalo Bills 21-0 in the 2nd quarter.
Last four playoff games under Mike Tomln.
I am not sure what he is doing with the team to prepare them for the first half of playoff games on either side of the ball.
I think 105-7, with the 7 being a TD by TJ Watt, shows that maybe, once Mike gets his 6 year extension, he might think about a different approach.

Let me build on that putrid showing....
How teams come out of the gates...especially in the playoffs.....is a direct indication of coaching preparation, game plan, scheme, creating mismatches, taking advantage of weaknesses, element of suprise, crisp play, execution, play calling, timing, tone, edge, passion,,,,,,, etc. Etc.
The Steelers have stated their last 5 playoff games in holes real fast.
That's 115 -7 in last 5 playoff games....
Historically bad.
Unmatched.
Will NEVER be repeated.
Down 10-0 to Pats in 2016
Down 21-0 to Jags in 2017
Down 28-0 to Browns in 2020
Down 35-7 to Chiefs in 2021
Down 21-0 to Bills in 2023.
115-7.....
And the 7 points.... was a TJ defensive touchdown

I've got to admit, when we went down 21-0 I was genuinely surprised. I just thought law of averages that we'd not get embarrassed today. But nope. We're consistent.

Tomlin is a jizz magnet in the playoffs, Dude got coated again tonight.
How Tony Romo and Jim Nance have no idea of this part of Tomlin...
How nobody on NFL network will put this chart on a screen...
Espn?
This guy is untouchable...
Those numbers above are so UNBELIEVABLY BAD...
Rub eyes to make sure you read it correctly .....bad.
No other head coach in the history of football can replicate that....
No other coach can survive that and continue on and regarded as the coaching royalty that he is...

In Tomlin’s last 5 playoff games the cumulative 1st quarter score is: brace yourselves for this one...
66-0
For the love of the baby Jesus...walk away Mike. I can't take much more of this, and to constantly be told by non Steelers fans or the media how lucky we are to have him and NHALS is fucking beyond nauseating.

Look at me like I have 3 heads when I tell them the Steelers will not win another big game, another SB... let alone a playoff game until Tomlin is gone.

The Standard is the Standard.... the Standard used to be Super Bowls..
and now the Standard has been to feed the Steelers fanbase a shit sandwich for the last decade plus.
What a great fucking gig Mike has.

According to Depot, the Steelers are the first team in NFL history to allow over 28 points in five consecutive post-season games. Of course, it's more than that.
https://steelersdepot.com/2024/01/steel ... us-points/
It's amazing that you have morons on this very site saying that Mike Tomlin's teams overachieve based on talent. Same idiots will crow like peacocks all season about how he coaches a top 10 defense or some shit only to go silent when his defense gets its shit pushed in come the post-season because they were expected to lose. No biggie.
They didn't lose this game because of Mason Rudolph, but one particular imbecile who I won't even name was cursing Rudolph in the gameday thread. Not a word of criticism was directed at Mike Tomlin from this maroon.
But they insist they were right about everything and strutting around like they're the shit right now. It's the definition of peacock chess.

Think about what that means.
In the first quarter, the Steelers get behind two touchdowns while not sniffing even a field goal. They get their asses kicked from the outset of the game. Just like last night, Bills just pummeled them and had many opps to complete huge gains in the passing game.
This shines badly on Coach Mike so it's not allowed to be considered.

"We, as an offensive collective were off today, and certainly, he's a component of that,"
Holy shit. I mean it's obvious to all of us that have been following this team that he can't game plan for shit and gets embarrassed in the playoffs because of that but these stats are horrifying to see. How can you look at that and see anything other than the problem is the HC?
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

These beginning of the game stats are the result of:
1. Building a team whose style of play is inherently passive, i.e. play close to the vest and wait for the other team to make mistakes
2. Focus on possessing the ball and getting to manageable 3rd downs
3. Failure to anticipate the other team showing you something unexpected and continuing to operate as if what they’re doing doesn’t matter, i.e. we do what we do
4. Asinine gameplans. Like, you have to *plan* to run the ball up the middle with Najee? You have to plan to play vanilla defense?
I’ve been saying it for a long time now: my main problem with the focus to make the team competitive over the desire to make them a Super Bowl contender even if they’re worse in the short term is: they don’t spend the year determining how they will win against better teams in the playoffs— either finding a way that works for that or finding new players. Instead, they never push the limits of their players ability to learn or to face challenges like modern concepts and are satisfied with a competitive team who plays hards, keeps it close, and tries to win in the end. It’s not sustainable, especially in the postseason.

There is a total lack of innovation from any of the coaches under Tomlin. It's all a 3 day old Saltine that's been sitting out on the counter. Don't try to tell me it's a Ritz.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 2:12 pmThese beginning of the game stats are the result of:

Couple more things..Cam Heyward at the post game podium said, if it werent for Tomlin this team wouldnt even come close to competing for a playoff spot? If thats true fire the architect of said roster...psssst hey Cam...Tomlin has a MAJOR voice in roster construction and the draft. Secondly, Tomlin has found the cheat code of not being held accountable, as long as he gets in as the 7th seed in the playoffs(NHALS), he can never be upset by a perceived lesser team, so why the fuck would he even want to work hard to be the #1 or #2 seed, like say Mike McCarthy, and risk the "upset loss".

Not surprisingly, Tomlin’s long-time captain, Cam Heyward, didn’t run off the podium when asked about Tomlin’s future. Instead, he rushed to his coach’s defense.
“Every player wouldn’t be anything without Mike T,” Heyward said. “This group would not function to even get to a playoff berth without Mike T. He keeps us accountable from top to bottom. I don’t want to play for any other coach.”
Take that for what it’s worth.
Heyward, a positive man by nature and one of the great human beings in Steelers history, also said the current team has what it takes to ...
I’m having a hard time typing Heyward’s quote after what we saw Monday — after all we’ve seen since 2010, really.
Can you say delusional?
“We have a core that is very strong, that can make some noise in the playoffs,” Heyward said. “There’s more football to be had for our group. The group here is a strong group that could win a Super Bowl.”
How about winning a playoff game?
Is it too much to ask for one playoff win?
Sadly for the Steelers, that isn’t going to happen anytime soon under Tomlin.

More ridiculous numbers over the last 5 embarrassing playoff defeats. All hail Tomlin the defensive wizard coach.
[Combined numbers opposing QBs have posted in the Steelers last five playoff games (all losses):
118 completions
171 attempts
69% completion rate
1,468 yards
15 TDs
1 INT
QB rating of 122.2. Which would be the second highest in NFL history./quote]
Also can anyone remember who has that lone int?
